About this listen

Crulden the Ruiner is the most dangerous gladiator in the galaxy.

I'm his clone—equally ugly, equally dangerous, and just as feared. I'm also being held captive, since no one trusts a creature like me to be let loose.

A curvy, determined human named Bee doesn't think I'm a creature, though. In fact, she thinks I just need a guide. She's got half the males on this planet eating out of her hand, and she's confident she can do the same with me.

The managing little female has no idea what she's in for. I'm not some fool to be led around by my tail. But . . . the champion in me loves a challenge.

A champion also wants to win a prize. So I tell Bee I'll go along with her plans if she kisses me . . . right on my tusk-filled mouth.

I never expected her to say yes . . .

Contains mature themes.

Another awesome story

Ruby Dixon writes some of the best stories!! I am enjoying the stories about Risda III and the humans/aliens there.

I wish we would have had the original narrators though. This team just was NOT as good, I almost DNF, when I read the kindle version in two days. :(

Good read

I enjoyed the book. Narrator was great for the most part. Wondering if there will be another in the series!

Love Ruby but the male narrator really threw me.

I love Ruby's works. Her universe building for this type of fantasy romance is second to none, really! I really enjoy her stuff....but this male narrator...what the heck? I kept checking the play speed because I thought I had it set faster on accident. Nope, it's just the male narrator plowing through the dialogue so dang fast I can't keep up. WHY is he reading this book like that? WHY so fast? Why is his narration so strangled sounding? Did he have somewhere else to be? Did he think this was sexy? Did he need a cough drop for a sore throat?! So many WHYS on that end. The female narrator was warm, rich, well paced and pleasant.... but, there *was* a very condescending and infantile sound to her being the manipulative and cunning, yet innocent and bimbo seeming, human female...(btw why is it Bee and not Bea? She clearly says her full name is BEAtrice...but every publication and synopsis I've seen has it spelled Bee. Ah well, just a personal pet peeve). She was baby-voicing the narration to death. It almost felt like a preschool teacher was reading those parts. It wasn't enough to annoy, but it was enough to make me roll my eyes and giggle a bit. The female narrator was FAR superior to the male narrator who honestly just seemed bored to be there and rushed through his bits with careless abandon, while at the same time putting on this gruff, strangled, and, pain filled sounding voice. I felt anxious when he read. It was extremely off putting. I HATE a rushed narration. Overall the story was amazing like all of Ruby's books....but I'm begging Ms. Dixon - PLEASE don't ever let Alexander Cendese narrate ANYTHING again until he gets that pace correct. It was literally so distracting and off putting my review has been about that almost entirely instead of the actual story....*sigh*. Unfortunately that can't be helped, it's all I can focus on. Yikes!

Female narrator made this a hard listen

I'm not a fan of Ja'air as an adult book narrator. I've listened to a handful of books narrated by her and I just don't think she's goid for narrating adult books. She would be better suited to children's books. The way she reads is more akin to "story time" than "sexy time". I didn't mind the male narrator much, though he's not very good with female voices which is fairly common for most male narrators.

I don't know how I feel about Bee. On one side I like that despite the things she's gone through she didn't let it break her. On the other hand I didn't really like her manipulative attitude with those around her. I understand she was trying to do a job, but it makes it seems like mental health professionals don't see clients as people but as things to bend to thier will. It's people like that that make people hesitant to seek help when they really need it.

I liked Cruelden/Victor. I like how he grew as a person and overcame the instincts that were programmed into him with being a clone. He became his own person.

The story is sweet and a great addition to the worlds created by Ruby Dixon. I recommend this book to all lovers of R. Dixon's books. I suggest increasing the speed to 1.35x to make the reading sound more natural.

Outstanding

I thoroughly enjoyed this Audible book. It is a twist on the usual space romance; he is the prisoner and she is his rescuer. Ruby Dixon never ceases to entertain me. It was a pleasure to listen to the narrators, they made the story come alive.

Ruby does it again

RISDA is becoming an interesting community for humans. However I’d prefer the original narrating team.

I loved it.

Victor was not the worse guy. He was bad but what would one expect from a clone of a very very bad individual. He had to learn what it was he liked and did not like. He finds that he very much like Bea. She was like him conning and placating. She did what she had to do to get what she wanted. After five years of being nothing but a play thing she found her way around to get what she needed.

Bea is with a Griffin. He to me was the worse guy. She did not care to Knick up in the clues she was sending. He was just wanting to have a mate. He did not connect with Bea. Bea did however find a great connection with Victor.

I have not finished all the stories in the roads are verse, but I most certainly will be making a point to finish more of them.

I did liked both Ja’Air and Alexander. I also listen to audios at a much faster pace. For me it give a different feel and quality to the audio. Regular setting bore me to tears. Here’s to a successful installment and many listens to come.

Love the book! Could not stand the female narrator

Absolutely loved this one! I've really enjoyed all of the Corsairs and Risdaverse books. I really hope Ruby keeps up both series.

This story was fantastic! FMC was strong and the apitome of "you catch for flies with honey" attitude. I'm typically a bigger fan of the "try me b**ch and I'll throw punch a MF" FMC variety, but I still liked her. I did wish she was more assertive with her kinda bf, but also kind of got it. Still every scene regarding him annoyed tf out of me due to her lack of assertiveness.

MMC was awesome and cracked me up throughout the introduction of his character.

The male narrator is an awesome one. Not a huge fan of his female character voices, but he does so well with everything else and has such a great voice for audios that you get over it.

The female narrator was intolerable for me. I couldn't stand her cadence, and she had kind of a lisp thing going on. Everything just sounded so corny because of how she performed it, and the sex scenes from FMC POV were terrible because of her performance and made me CRINGE. Every time there was a spicy scene, I just hoped to the universe it'd switch to the MMC POV. Such a bummer because the narrators for Ruby's books are always perfect for the characters, but this woman nealry ruined the book for me.

Loved this story, just the dynamic between the two main characters kept me smiling the entire time!
