About this listen

Beth Chase is too busy planning perfect weddings to worry about the lack of action in her own love life. But if she was looking for a man, she wouldn't be looking at Colin Pratt. Her boss swears that Best Man Colin is a quiet scholar and science fiction writer who couldn't possibly cause a fuss at his own brother's wedding. He's clearly never met the man in question.

Snarky, sexy, and more than a little inebriated, Colin is the final obstacle between Beth and the last perfect wedding she needs in order to make partner. Of course, when she helps him into a taxi at the end of the night, she has no idea that he's only just begun to poke holes in her professional exterior. Colin might have the skills to seduce a romance professional, but can he convince her that he's the best man to share her happy ever after?

Cute Short Story

Wish this author would have taken this story further. One can see all kind's of possibilities
for this story. I laughed out loud at the wedding planner and the best man's interaction at the beginning of the book. But got a little irritated with her dragging her feet towards the end. All and all this is a light read and was very entertaining for me.

Narration and story fell flat for me!

The Best Man started out really great. The book was funny, quirky and the cute banter between the hero and heroine was laugh out loud funny. Then the book went flat.

My biggest problem with this book is Colin….well….Beth too. Ugh! I <3 ROMANCE, but more realistic romance. Colin professed his love and intent to marry Beth like 2 days after meeting her for the first time. That’s just weird to me and pretty creepy. He’s from England so of course he has a limited amount of time to convince her of his love and make her fall in love as well. The whole book (novella) takes the span of a weeks time. Although the couple does have some cute banter and sexy love scenes I still don’t understand the INSTA-LOVE that happened here.

Narrator Note: Traci Odom did an OKAY job. I initially like the narrator during Colin’s drunken mess at his brothers wedding but after that I didn’t really like her narration. I thought the voice for Beth was really high and squeeky. Her British accent didn’t sound too bad. Beth’s assistant Tony had the most GOD AWFUL voice I’ve EVER heard. For a grown man he sounded like a 12 year old boy with a high pitched voice going through puberty. It was BAD!!!
