Publisher's summary

Jamie needs a job. Etta needs a sub.

Surely, they can come to some sort of agreement.

Jamie is jobless and down to her last dollar, living in squalor with only a cat to keep her sane. On the day of an important job interview she's spotted by Etta Coleman, the smart and striking billionaire bachelorette who tears through assistants like cheap tissues.

Etta wants her. To be her assistant. To be her submissive.

For six months all Jamie has to do is be at Etta’s beck and call. In the office, in the boardroom... and in the bedroom.
In return, she'll become a millionaire.

They say that every woman has her price. Etta is willing to pay Jamie’s. Now she will enter a decadent world of money, bad jokes, broken hearts, dangerous business partners, and sweet white-collar power.

The moment Jamie signs that billion-dollar contract, she belongs to Etta Coleman. Body... and heart!

This is a sapphic retelling of the 2015 serial THE BILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT by Cynthia Dane.

Loved these characters and the narrator

Didn't know what to expect because a lot of plots can seem so familiar. This one has unexpected twist and great character development. I loved both of the MCs and their word inter-play. If that's not enough, it's also hot, hot, hot!

The words burn off the page!

Thoroughly enjoyed the story and the narrator. I think I am going to like the Dane Remakes!

Deliciously captivating!

I couldn't put this one down. I was thoroughly engaged from beginning to end and almost started reading it all over again after I'd finished.

The Contract

OK, first let me say that there are so many things going for this book. Billionaire propositions a down-on-her-luck girl in need of a job... I love the premise! The writing is great. Etta is swoon worthy - mysterious, confident, intelligent, and sexy. The sex scenes are 🔥🌶💥. It's definitely worth the read. The only problem for me was that I had a hard time liking Jamie, but I'll let that just be my personal opinion.

👏👏👏 for the narrator, Aileen Bishop. Excellent job

I wanted to love it…

I adore Hildred Billings but as a person who practices BDSM the books dynamics were absolutely lacking. Hired or not the submissive wasn’t educated enough to participate in those dynamics. The rest of the story was entertaining but I couldn’t get over that aspect. The very casual use of the collar happens but this was just off. The narration was great!

👎

Highly disappointed

This book isn't for me. I like dom/sub relationships but this was bad. Etta doesn't really feel like a "dom". Feels like she just looking for a lover. In the process she sabotages herself. Jamie and Etta could be having a great time. Then Etta says/do something dumb which ruins everything we were working up to.

Jamie is worst in my opinion. She signs a contract about being a sub but doesn't act like it. I mean like she doesn't feel right in that role. I know she has personality and all that but I think this story would've been better as an Ice queen type book. Jamie is childish half the time. Also half the time she says I won't fall in love with her but then she does. Get smacked in the face by something Etta does. Says the same thing and then does it again it's like a back and forth.

I would dive deeper into it. Though I feel like I'm going to spoil a good first half of the book. Jamie is loud, somewhat she feels narcissistic. Also she's childish I have 6 hours left of this book she might change I don't know I'm not sticking around. I can't keep going.

Etta is okay but let's Jamie walk all over her. She does punish Jamie at one point but turned into sex. Which is boring I thought maybe we'd have some character development.

(Small spoiler)

Plus in the contract they made. Etta said they're exclusive. So no one can join, or they can't sleep outside the relationship. You know like boyfriend and girlfriend just contract form. Then she goes and buys an escort saying oh this is a surprise to Jamie. Nothing happens Jamie was drunk blah blah. The problem I have with this is the contract and how Jaime was like I'm falling in love with etta. This happens and Jamie is welcoming the idea or didn't snap at etta thinking it was fine.
Like make up your mind Jamie. Stop with this hot and cold and stupid drama stuff oh my God.

author ya killing me 😭
