Who needs leather when you can have denim? A denim dom, that is.

Shayla Pierce dumped her lying ex and moved to Florida to start a job at a magazine. An assignment to write about BDSM leads her to discover a new world and make a slew of new friends, including the sinfully sexy Tony Daniels. She's just not sure she can ever trust again.

Would you listen to The Denim Dom again? Why?

Possibly. I'm not dying to listen again. The narrator was not accurate with her read which took away from the story. If I had never read the book before I might not have caught it so much but I know the story very well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Shayla. She is a well rounded character and i think gives a great showing of a person starting out into the world of BDSM. Not knowing how to start or where to go.

What aspect of Heather Butler’s performance would you have changed?

I would have had her be accurate and she had a very strong accent. I would have had her try to lose it or control it better.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not necessarily. I enjoyed picking it and returning to it.

Any additional comments?

It is a great book and even thought there are some flaws in the audiable it is still worth listening to.

I did not read the print version. I love listening to the words come alive with audio. I usually read the book first but not with this one.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Denim Dom?

I enjoyed how the story was told. It answered a lot of questions people want to know. If I had to choose a scene, it would be when Tony came back from his trip and went right to Shay's place.

Have you listened to any of Heather Butler’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't think I have.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I love a storyteller that can bring my emotions to the forefront.

I loved this book in print/ebook and I love it more now in audiobook. It represents the lifestyle beautifully and tells a wonderful love story too.

Over time I have moved away from mf romance firmly into mostly mm. Tymber Dalton is the exception. I will read and or listen to everything she writes. This is a bdsm themed book and she has excellent command of the genre. She writes a blend of mf and mmf erotica and I love it. If you enjoy these genre seek out and enjoy Tymber Dalton.

First of all, you need to read Cardinal's rule before you read this one... to understand some of the character's history.

Secondly, the narrator is JUST reading the book. No voice changes that distinguish between male and female. You will need to listen closely and remember who is speaking. Can be a bit frustrating.

This book is a good intro to BDSM and Master/Slave life style. If you are already into BDSM... you will get bored. It covers from the basics and progresses. (slowly!) The beginning can get boring. I kept saying "just hurry up already".

Sure its a love story between two people who have sex... lots of it... BDSM style. No passion. So, if you are looking for steamy sex... you are in the right place. If you are looking for passion... ummmmm ... keep looking.

Overall, the story is cute, slow and predictable. Very very simple story. Nothing extra ordinary. A perfect introduction to BDSM and Master/Slave relationship. Enjoy.

Don’t take this the wrong way, for me this was just ok.

Nothing really stands out for me, the scenes were hot sure but I didn’t really connect with either of the main characters.
I did wonder why if Shayla was so “new” why she didn’t have any inner dialog during her first sub time.

And at one point was looking to see if it was going to be over.
Now that is not like me with this series. All the ones I have read so far I have loved so I was kind sad I didn’t like this one too.

I enjoyed the narrator, she didn’t stand out or anything but that’s fine.

This was an excellent story which showed the evolution of a Master/slave relationship. The chemistry between the main characters grabbed my interest from the start of the book until the emotional ending.

What would have made The Denim Dom better?

I think a little less talk and a lot more action, would have made the story better. The Dom explained what it was to be a Dom and what he expected in a Sub, but not until the end of the story did you really get to experience this Dom, Sub relationship.

Has The Denim Dom turned you off from other books in this genre?

Not at all as a matter of fact I have listened to other books by Tymber Dalton, that were great listens hot steamy sex and a good reflection of the menage and BDSM lifestyles.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Heather Butler?
