About this listen

Sacrifices—that’s what females make to live in Serendee—an urban utopia. We give up our family, our choices, our bodies.

Some people call it a cult, but they don’t understand. We give it our all, and in return, Serendee gives back by providing a safe, idyllic home.

Starting with The Order.

I don’t expect the perfect mate, but when I’m matched with Rex—the rebellious, handsome, and destructive heir of Serendee—I’m stunned.

Until I find out why I’ve been chosen.

Rex doesn’t want me, but his father will do anything to keep his son in line, including having his three best friends train me to be the perfect mate, in and out of bed.

Elon, Silas, and Levi will test my beliefs, my faith, and every ounce of loyalty I have to Serendee.

What I don’t understand is that Rex’s goal is to break free.

But first, he’ll have to break me to make it happen.

The Order, book one of the Cult of Serendee, is a contemporary, dark reverse harem romance by USA Today and Amazon best-selling author Angel Lawson.

Almost perfect

The only thing that would make this audiobook better, is if there was a male voice narrating for the MMC, instead of a woman narrating an octave lower than her natural tone. Otherwise, it’s worth the listen.

Intrigued!

As this story progressed I became captivated by it. I also hope that this place gets brought to its knees. It’s 1 am and I’ve already downloaded book 2, because I’ve become that invested. Definitely check the triggers…cult manipulation. 18+ 4.5/stars overall

My Goodness

Lets just say this is my first time reading Angel Lawson by herself. I have read many of her books with other authors but this was the first book I have read with only Angel Lawson and holy cult! I was so enthralled with this book that I ran to get the second and third books. The cliffhangers are so good I couldn't wait to see what happened next.

Spoiler Alert: yes it is a book about a cult filled with the "fallen" and the true believers. Three of the four boys teach her how to have sex and prime her for the fourth guy. Yes, there is a forceful sex part however it prepares her for what happens in the second and third books. The drama continues in those books.

My only complaint is that we "meet" her dad at the beginning of the first book. However, we don't see him anywhere else in the first book, second or third book. Like WTF happened to him? What does he think of everything that is happening to his daughter?

But all in all try this book out. you will not be disapointed

perfect

I waited a long time to read this one. I wasn't too sure about the premise. but boy was I wrong. just do it. it's amazing. and honestly... I can't believe the narrator voiced male and female voices that well. normally it annoys the terd outta me to hear some of the false male voices but she was great.

Great book. Needed a male narrator

This was a great book, but they needed to be a male narrator as 4 of the points of view are men. The woman narrator was OK. I liked her male voices, although they didn’t really change based on the male, so it was hard to know which male was talking other than the fact that they said the name her woman voice was kind of whiny.

Captivating storyline

This book is so unlike any other I've read. It pulls you in immediately. I cannot wait to start book 2! God I love Silas so much! It's taking me a long time to like Rex but I have a feeling in book 2 he might redeem himself.

oh gosh

I'm only on chapter 8 and this book makes me want to stop reading completely I've never written a review before but I feel like I should with this book. the fact of the renewable trigger warnings for this book makes me kind of upset I feel sick to my stomach after only listening to seven chapters and I don't know if I'm going to be able to continue this book she basically just gets actually assaulted throughout the entire thing and instead of trying to understand why they have to do all these things with her they just make her feel bad for questioning them entirely.

NOT A ROMANCE!

Angel Lawson is one of my favorite authors but his book is not a romance and should have a trigger warning. I made it almost all the way through this book, not loving the story but willing to continue because I liked the concept of an alternative society. At the point of 1 hour 55 minutes remaining the supposed hero raped the heroine. This was not a dubious consent scene, it was rape. She begged him not to as he held her down. I am disgusted that this book has so many good ratings.
