About this listen

Sequel to the best-selling M/M sci-fi thriller Pathfinder

A vision drawn from the mind of a dying member of an Outrider clan draws Shai and Lorne back into the city of Nhil-Rhar, where they are pulled into a deadly conspiracy. Pathfinders are having dreams of destruction and chaos, criminal factions are battling openly in the streets, and a mysterious virus has been unleashed in the Agency's computers.

On the fringes of it all lurks a dark figure that Shai can sense but not see, a figure that is neither pathfinder nor guide yet, somehow - impossibly - more powerful than both. Time is running out, and if he doesn't solve the mystery of the Ouroboros prophecy, not only his life, but the lives of the Outriders and everyone in Nhil-Rhar will be forfeit.

Excellent Experience

Narrator Dan Calley blew this raven's feather up in the air and managed to keep it floating for over 14 hours. Leaving me numb and speechless, but in a good way, I suppose. I am never speechless… Let’s just say dumbstruck with my foot in my mouth. An ouroborosly aha moment, realizing the irony of it all. This sci-fi novel was narrated beautifully, it truly conveys a living experience of being consumed by oneself. Whether the author has done this consciously or not, it took me a week to percolate this and to rationally describe the experience of seeing and feeling a sunset in person, instead of it being described to you.

I felt the story and I tip my hat to the author. The core of the story can be told in one hour, but the world-building and the intrinsic detail to every single person, place, and object were magnificent. So, while we were all up in the air, thanks to the excellent narration. The author managed to put us down so gently. By the time it’s the end you feel like a baby being rocked to sleep, wishing for more songs. But, barely able to hold on to reality, before giving in to calm and peace of happily ever after.

The day is over, the 14 hours are over. Everything has been said, but still, you hope to hear more. Totally spoiled and ruined.

I absolutely recommend this audiobook. Book one is dark and this one was the journey to the light. They are pieces of one story, but totally different.

Happy Listening

Performance was not good

Its an OK story line but the narrator did not bring the characters to life for me.
