About this listen

Will Rowan’s festival fling with sexy dancer Seth lead to something more permanent?

Rowan is stuck at a folk festival helping out a mate, and it really isn’t his scene. The yoga and singing workshops are bad enough, but morris dancing is the final straw. Bearded men with beer guts prancing around wearing bells - who wants to watch that?

All Rowan’s preconceptions are shattered when he meets Seth - a morris dancer, and the stuff Rowan’s fantasies are made of. Seth persuades Rowan to come to a dancing workshop, and Rowan’s willing to do whatever it takes to get to know Seth better. The attraction is mutual, and a lesson filled with innuendo and flirting leads to an incredible night together.

When Rowan arrives home, he’s gutted to find that Seth has given him the wrong phone number. Assuming Seth did it on purpose, Rowan resolves to forget about him. But fate - and friends - conspire to get them back together. Will they manage to stay in step this time around?

Festival Fun

This cute quick listen is light and fun. Heat and sweet, Seth and Ro are a delightful couple. Thank goodness they had friends to help set them in the right direction. Hamish Long performs this wonderfully.

Great story. Great chemistry.

Rowan meets Seth, a sexy Morris dancer at a festival and becomes immediately attracted. I had no idea about Morris dancers or these types of festivals. It was a fun setting for a meet-up. Jay Northcote has developed a fascinating story about something I’d never heard about it. Hamish Long delivered a fantastic performance telling the quick but very erotic story of Rowan and Seth’s romance. Hamish gives Rowan and Seth such great voices. Hamish gave Seth a deep sexy voice. Rowan has got a youthful and eager tone. Hamish’s performance quickens when Seth and Rowan together then becomes more relaxed during quieter times. Hamish knows how to pace the story so well. Hamish knows how to give Northcote’s words so much color and depth. Great story. Great characters all delivered perfectly by Hamish Long!

Fun and cute little short

Cute and fun little short about an awkward meet-cute, which turns into a one-night stand and then more, with a little help from some friends. I know Jay is a morris dancer himself and that part of the story was a lot of fun.

As always Jay's stories are fun and hot and with a guaranteed happy ending.

Enjoyable shorter listen

Tops Down Bottoms Up is an enjoyable short detailing how a festival weekend hookup turned into more. This short had just enough details, steam, and development to keep me invested. The story is made that much better by a great narrator who I always enjoy listening to.

I liked both main characters in Tops Down Bottoms Up. Considering the brevity, I was pleasantly surprised by just how much of Rowan's personality and past came through. Since the story is told from Rowan's point-of-view, Seth was a little less developed, but I still felt like I got to know him well enough to be rooting for Rowan and him to get their happily ever after. From a romantic standpoint, the story was pretty limited. However, I was happy there was a good range of emotions throughout which inevitably delivered a satisfying story.

The narrator of Tops Down Bottoms Up further elevated the story with a smooth and expressive delivery. He brought the story to life without overacting the scenes, complete with a pleasant tone that makes for an easy listen. If you are in the mood for a shorter, enjoyable audiobook, I'd certainly recommend this story and narrator.

Sweet, but hot and sexy; I loved it!

I can hardly believe that it’s been nearly 4 years since I first read Tops Down Bottoms Up. I loved it then and I loved it even more when I listened to Hamish Long’s fantastic performance of the audiobook. His voice is so perfect for Jay Northcote’s writing.

I'd never heard of Morris dancing back when I first read Tops Down Bottoms Up so I looked it up; isn't YouTube wonderful? I won't spoil it for you, check it out for yourself. 😊

While this is a fairly short audiobook at only 2 hours and 17 minutes, it still packs a punch. Jay Northcote's writing is so descriptive that I could see and feel all of the things the characters did. I love it when I get that feeling from a book.

This story held my attention right from the beginning. I could totally relate to Rowan's dismay at finding that Seth had given him a bad phone number and my heart hurt for him. Thank goodness Rowan and Seth have good friends and that's all I'll say.

I loved this book and can’t recommend it highly enough!

A copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
