Publisher's summary

Two clashing colleagues stuck together for Christmas — will opposites eventually attract?

Patrick has been single since he broke up with his cheating ex almost a year ago. With Christmas looming, he’s resigned to spending it alone with only memories of happier times for company. When a business trip with a coworker leaves them stranded in the Lake District due to heavy snow, it seems Patrick will have company for Christmas after all. It’s a shame his companion is Kyle, who’s undeniably attractive, but annoying as hell.

Aware of Patrick’s reluctant admiration, Kyle basks in the attention, even though Patrick isn’t the type of man he normally goes for. Averse to relationships after being hurt in the past, Kyle enjoys the occasional hookup, but has given up on seeking anything more meaningful.

Stuck together, their antagonism escalates along with a heavy dose of sexual tension until it finally ignites. What starts as a Christmas fling soon feels like something special, but will their tentative connection melt away as the snow thaws? If they’re going to take a chance on finding happiness together, they’ll have to put their differences aside and learn to trust one another.

Contains: enemies-to-lovers, snowball fights, bickering, spanking, a cute dog, a wise old lady, mistletoe, and a happy ending (of course).

A lovely Christmas romance

I really enjoyed this story for the simple Christmassy fun of it, but I also appreciated that the characters have enough quirks and baggage to keep it from falling into over the top schmaltz. It's not devastatingly serious, but it's also not total fluff. There's also a lot of sex in it for the period of time it covers, but it is pretty hot, so for those who like a lot of heat - this has it. It might seem incongruous with all the sweet and almost magical holiday coziness, but somehow it didn't feel too jarring to me. I wouldn't have felt sad for it to have had a little less of it, but I don't think it was overdone.
There are only a few characters around for the majority of the book and they are flawed people, with good parts and not so good ones. They all have personalities that others might not get on with, but that adds to their depth, or at least that's my take.
The narration for the audio version was quite good. I do think that it wouldn't have hurt for Kyle to have been given a slightly more femme tone, based on him being described more than once as prone to bitchiness, more obviously out at the workplace, and rather interested in fashion and clubbing. He's not super glam, glitter and camp, but the voice he was given was quite plain. That being said, I did still enjoy the narration - Hamish Long did a great job of differentiating voices, pacing, volume and tone for each mood and circumstance. I love Jay Northcote's portrayal of the average English guy, the slang, the manners, etc., and Long is excellent at enhancing it all.
(One thing I can't let go unsaid - as I was listening, I had a sudden feeling of déjà vu about certain aspects of the story, as if I'd already read or listened to something incredibly similar. Shortly thereafter, I was skimming through my other holiday books and I realized that Jay's Cold Feet has some very similar circumstances and scenes. I was probably slow on realizing that fact. I don't entirely mind though, since I did thoroughly enjoy this book. I just wouldn't necessarily recommend reading both books back to back, unless you're into the idea of compare and contrast.)

Wonderfully done!

I am thrilled with this story! Kyle and Patrick fit the classics enemies to lovers trope but Jay Northcote has turned that into so much more. Moving, compelling and very sexy, the added Christmas elects made it even better. Hamish Long did an excellent job with the narration - his ability to change character voices was excellent. His elderly lady was spot on! Thoroughly enjoyed the listen!

A Snowed-In, Kink-Lite Christmassy Romance

All I want for Christmas is more of Hamish Long's delicious British accented voice in my ears. "Stuck on You" is the second Christmas romance by Jay Northcote that I've had the pleasure of listening to this holiday season, and a pleasure it was.

Polar opposites and always at odds, it takes being stuck together amid a snowstorm for bickering work colleagues Patrick (30) and Kyle (23) to really get to know one another.

Forced proximity - and a shared bed - ratchets up the sexual tension already brewing between the two, and their ensuing kink-lite fling is as initially steamy (and runs as hot and cold) as it is ultimately sweet and loving. There are also some nice Christmassy moments throughout that give a genuine holiday feel to the story.

Narrator Hamish Long always delivers, with distinct voices and varied accents, and I thoroughly enjoyed his performance here. I received this free review copy audio book by request and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Close quarters enemies to lovers

Wonderfully narrated, great accent and character work.
This Holiday romance tics all my favorite boxes: Snowed in, enemies-to-lovers, Christmas, light kink.
It was surprisingly slow paced at times, giving Patrick and Kyle ample time to build a strong connection even thought they are only stuck together for a few days. I loved how the heat in the story did not take over, but came hand in hand with friendship and companionship. And they did have their share of struggles, though nothing too dramatic and they did talk about it (which is such a treat in a genre where many books use drama to create explosive conflicts between the MC's).

Both men have been hurt in the past, and they are so different from each other that it's really fun to see them build a relationship despite all those obstacles. This book also has surprising feels and sweet holiday vibes, in the magical snowy English countryside.

It's fun, smoldering hot with a touch if kinkiness and super sweet! You do not want to miss out on this book this holiday season!

Christmas cozy comfort

I always love a Jay Northcote book at Christmas time. He writes such easy cozy stories. it's gotten to the point that Christmas isn't Christmas without a binge reading of all of Jay's Christmas books. this one is no exception. enemies to lovers trope, in a quaint tiny town with forced proximity and bed sharing? sign me up, please. Hamish does an absolute amazing job narrating. Every character has a very distinct voice and the inflections were perfect throughout. As always a great Christmas read, one that I know I'll come back to year after year.

Can't get enough of this incredible voice actor!!

And the story was delightful, too - much sweeter than I anticipated, but well-written and engaging. I'll definitely try another Jay Northcote book!

Hot hot holiday listen

I have yet to meet a Jay Northcote book I don’t like. This fun and surprisingly steamy Christmas story has some of my fave tropes: enemies to lovers; forced proximity; there’s only one bed! Patrick and Kyle have a very antagonistic work relationship and being forced to go away on business together by their boss to hopefully smooth things out between them, they find themselves stuck in a small village due to a snowstorm. Time spent alone without outside distractions allows for the two men to get to know each other beyond the superficial. Both have such high walls built up protecting their hearts that it takes a real show of strength for both of them to attempt vulnerability so that they might attempt to find something they both thought didn’t exist. Wonderful story I will most certainly listen to again and again. The silky voice of Hamish Long was very enjoyable.

I received a free copy for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Excellent Book

I always enjoy Jay Hogan's stories - some more than others obviously - based upon my personal taste .

This story is sweet and has some schmexy (kinda kinky) times and I truly enjoyed it. Although it's a well used trope ... the development of the relationship feels truly natural ! There's no grand decoration of insta- love but there very obvious real feelings involved. I highly recommend

it's okay...

It's nothing special. Pretty predictable. The dialog during sex is cringy porno style though both in writing and narration. It kind of ruins it.
