Good read until first MMA fight. Then the story because very unrealistic. No one allows weeks to pass with open unfinished pain. So disappointed in this part of the story. Balance was strong, interesting and well developed. A light read.

Love anything Christian Fox narrates. That being said…this was a captivating story of love conquering all. Well written and well narrated.

Makeup Artist Katie knows all too well that looks aren't everything because she's got the mental and physical scars to prove that a handsome face can be a mask hiding the true monster underneath. So, when the day comes for her to work on (Rogan the gorgeous, sexy, charismatic MMA Fighter turning Actor) she's confident that he will not affect her in any way.... no, not at all BUT, when she steps into his spellbinding, jaw-dropping, mouthwatering and panty melting aura, nothing, absolutely nothing, could have prepared her for his Godly magnetic presence. Rogan is fed up with the bimbos, the fakes, the users and the women who just want his money..... then he sees the pint sized, vulnerable, shy and clearly not interested Katie and all his senses get switched back on, he becomes alive again and suddenly he's ready for a challenge..... and he's simply not going to take "no" for an answer!

But it's going to take all his patience, charm and understanding to get anywhere because Katie's been burned before (literally) and it's going to take more than a handsome face to coax her out of the shadows and bring her back to life again. However, if anyone can do it Rogan can because he knows all too well that secrets and painful memories lie behind the scars..... as he too has his share of them.

A very enjoyable romance driven plot with a beaten down (but not out) heroine and her charismatic determined hero who have explosive chemistry, tender and touching conversations, passionate embraces and sexy 'get togethers' which builds and builds their feelings for one another. Which is good as they're going to have to depend on each other because they have more that just scars in common..... and history is about to ride up and viciously slap them both in the face with heartbreaking results. The plot then takes a more sinister suspenseful turn with a few twists and, when all his ex Army buddies walk in, Rogan knows things are about to get bad because they've found out just who the Puppet Master is who is responsible for the betrayal, the deaths and painting a target on all their foreheads. The name was a shock but the revenge and payback is awesome.

Worth a credit? This listen was very enjoyable and entertaining with loveable main characters, some humor, a heroine who finally grew a backbone and a wonderful caring thoughtful sexy hero. The dual POV narration was really good with both narrators easily capable of delivering far more than just one voice and seamlessly added all the emotions which, for me, brought the whole book to life making it a great listen..... and YES, they made it creditworthy.
