About this listen

Once upon a time I was the sun..their sun
The light to their dark
They were my world and I was their everything
Until they left

They broke me
Leaving me to pick up the pieces
And I did just that
Unfortunately, they didn't fit the same anymore

Royal, Jaxon, Lucky, and Dante are back
Each of them wanting more from me than I can give
Would they still want me if they knew the truth
Would they still love me if I let the darkness take over

Would I still be their Angel if they knew I let the devil in

Twisted Souls is the first book in the Reapers of Havoc series and must be listened to in order. The heroine will have multiple hot-as-hell love interests.

Please be advised this series contains a lot of dark content, graphic sex scenes and harsh language. This book is recommended for 18 and older. If dark content triggers you then this book is not for you. Otherwise, happy listening.

Drama and action...

3.5 Stars

Twisted Souls is the first book in the Reapers of Havoc MC series. It's a best friends to lovers romance with multiple love interests. This is a quick read that has drama and action with steamy scenes. I did want more character development, but hopefully that will come in the next installment. I am interested to see where this author is taking this story.

Juniper Young and Oliver Highpoint did a good job portraying these characters.

will be on lookout for next in series

I love the cover of this book. It's very eye catching. I was not expecting it to be a MC romance. Usually you can tell that from the description, but this one did not. But I love MC and dark romance, so I was ready to dive in regardless. The beginning was a little chaotic. I was trying to figure out what was going on and felt a little lost, like maybe I should know the history of the characters. But the story had a lot of twists and turns that kept me wanting to get to the meat of the story. This is definitely a set-up book that introduces you to the characters, but does not really give any closure or answers to any questions. I had tons more questions I wanted answered by the end of the book, which does end in a cliffhanger. So I am reserving my critique for the next book. This is definitely an interest to read the next installment. It is a RH story and has a lot of spice, almost too much as there are very few characters that this gal IS NOT sleeping with. I will be on the lookout for the next book. The narrators did an amazing job.

I requested and received a free audio copy via the publisher, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review. #TheFlockVIPReviewTeam #PinkFlamingoProductions #PFPAudio

Wild and fun!

This book is a whirlwind chaos—of both ‘romance-y’ and smutty varieties, as well as crime & action. With so much going on, something is likely to grip you—and it’s fun! It’s packed with drama, scandal, betrayal—and has great world-building to boot.

Friends-to-lovers.
Bikers / MC / MC war / rival gangs.
Vi0lence.
Dubcon.
Second chances everywhere.
Danger.
Group scenes (all about her).

Absolutely dying for more in this series—4 stars.

🎧 Audio:
Juniper is a fave narrator—I love all her work and she’s as great as always on this one. Both narrators perform well and overall sound quality is perfect. 🦩

Great Story, Narration & Series Start!

This book grabbed my attention immediately and held it captive the entire time. It is my first book written by Ashlee M. Edmonds and I enjoyed her writing style and the characters and storylines she created. As the first book of the series it the introduction to the characters and the MC world she is creating, laying down the foundation while starting to build on it, and it is a solid start. The story follows Angel and the boys she grew up with, Lucky, Jaxon, Royal and Dante, except they are no longer boys, but men. Royal’s dad, King, is the MC president and Lucky, Jaxon and Royal are prospects. Dante, who is the son of the president, Gabriel, of their rival club, is considered a prospect for it, though he wants nothing to do with it. There is a going on with club business and King sent the boys on a risky assignment, one that went south quickly, so they needed to hide out for a while and they could get in touch with Angel. Angel did not give up on them, always waiting for their return despite King telling her to get lost, but they never returned or reached out to her and it broke her heart. Fast forward two years and they are all back, and so is trouble, going by the name of Gabriel. Or maybe it is King, either way, Gabriel is out for vengeance, and he has a plan, one he put in motion, leaving us hanging and needing to know more. This fast-moving story is cleverly plotted, with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Ashlee M. Edmonds, thank you for this great story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧 Juniper Young and Oliver Highpoint were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting. I loved how they took their roles and made them their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.

Not my thing

I’m sorry this book was just okay. Not sure why ALL of the guys wanted her because there’s nothing special about her but to lust after everybody. Doesn’t matter who it was. Both narrators did an amazing job at narrating

Light on Character Development

Angel. She was their center. But one by one they chose their MC over her. It didn’t matter that they said it was to protect her, they left without a word. She was left alone. It felt like they never looked back and now she couldn’t either. Things changed while they were gone. She changed. Now they can accept her as an equal or she can continue going it alone. They abandoned her and it allowed the darkness in; she’s no longer only their light.

A little heavy on the sex and light on the character development. I love a gritty MC. I love RH. I also demand well-developed characters. And they must be likable to some degree, especially the lead female. Angel was set up perfectly. Abandoned and heartbroken, she could have become a strong, intelligent woman who demanded respect and groveling when the boys returned. Instead, she had sex with everyone, including the dad. That’s when she lost me. Sexual assault is not a turn-on unless you are seriously damaged, and until that point, Angel has not been traumatized. So, there went any sympathy. The boys were nondescript and interchangeable. They were with club females while supposedly desiring Angel. You do not love someone if you can so easily sleep around. You are not a tough guy if all you do is follow orders. You are not a bada** girl if you don’t know self-defense, can’t get yourself out of any sticky situation, and are at the mercy of an orgasm. The author can tell me all of these things are true but that doesn't make it so. Writing a good book with quality characters means you make the reader a part of the story, you make them experience the emotions; you can’t simply tell them. There is one complex character in this book. Gabriel. He is interesting. Is he the big bad or is he misunderstood? I’m afraid the author doesn’t know who he is either. Did she plan on him being a love interest? If so, don’t establish him as the devil, to be hated by all because of his treatment of Dante. She can’t love Dante, hate his dad because of his abuse, and then immediately develop feelings for him because of his talented tongue. That’s too shallow. Or is he the seducer, evil through and through? Even the cliffhanger can be interpreted in different ways. I’m interested to see if the author can salvage this story.

Juniper Young and Oliver Highpoint narrated. Both did a nice job of bringing these characters to life and capturing the angst.

Not for Me

2.5 ⭐ 3 🌶 4 🎧

I just... Um... Yeah... I'm not sure what to say... I think this just wasn't my cup of tea. Way too much other person drama, not enough motorcycle club suspense. And I have no clue what to think about the "devil" when this story is set up for a childhood friends to lovers RH.

Just when I decided to be okay with Gabe being a love interest (and okay with the NonCon that felt much more like SA/grape) he then goes and almost immediately let's loose with another woman, which I do not love at all. I really dislike watching my main characters be with anyone else descriptively once they've been with each other, or really at all.

The audio was well done though. I enjoyed Juniper Young and Oliver Highpoint quite a bit and am looking forward to hearing them narrate again.

Ok!

Narration was ok.

This is a MC, RH romance. The Female character wants more than friendship from her boys all of them because she doesn't want to choose. Too me it was ok. I wasn't a really big fan of the female character because I don't enjoy reading/listening to characters that act like they shouldn't be messed with then gets all mouthy and the next thing she is submitting, making up crazy excuses and then gets mouthy again.
