I can't say I was a huge fan of this one. There's a difference between pushing your virgin fiancé to try new dirty things and then there's borderline (if not over the line) SA. This one straddled that line and I just couldn't get on board with it.

This book was seriously mind-blowing! The authors pushed the boundaries with the characters' behavior, and damn, it was brilliant! Right from the start, I couldn't predict how far Gavin would go down the dark path, and I was so hooked on him! Angel was a badass, she started innocent, but she fought back against Gavin's shenanigans. The chemistry between them was insane, making the whole read a rollercoaster of fun! Seriously, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! I never knew what twist was coming next, and that ending? It hit me like a ton of bricks! Now, I'm jumping with excitement for the sequel! These characters are so damn captivating; I can't wait to dive back into their story. This mafia romance had everything: arranged marriages, power struggles, and the juiciest chemistry ever! If you're into a dark romance with some intense themes, you've got to grab this book ASAP!

Wicked Angel is book 1 in the Sinister Arrangement series. This is a dark, mafia romance.

I struggled to connect with these characters. The age gap between Gaven and Angel wasn’t an issue for me, but their chemistry felt lacking. The plot was interesting and held my attention.

Michael Norman Johnson did a good job portraying Gaven. I really like Sarah Puckett, but I don’t think her voice fit Angel.

Review: Wicked Angel is a story of hate, lust and dark taboo attractions. This audiobook was able to capture the seedy underbelly of the organized crime unit Lucy and AJ set this duet in and the narrators they chose only brought the MCs voices to life! I found the two narrators to have just the perfect grit (in Gaven’s POV) and innocence (in Angel’s POV) to bring the book to life in my head. I enjoyed the way the two narrators meshed and found the back and forth to be a wonderful push and pull.

Michael and Sarah were able to blend their voices as alternating POVs and it gave us a sense of angst that I missed while reading this book. I enjoyed listening to the banter and wit these two had in this book and especially LOVED the fiery side Angel lets out as she grows into herself. I found that neither narrator was my favorite in this audiobook, rather they each brought aspects to round out the book in ways I did not get in the read through. I am excited to listen to the final part in this duet when it comes!
 
Rating: 4/5, Once Again this book shook the foundation of Mafia romance and these two narrators put voices to Angel and Gaven perfectly!

Review: Get ready for the spice in this new dark mafia romance series. In this dual POV first installment, we meet Gaven and Evangeline. This first book chronicles the tumultuous feelings up until their wedding night and then leaves us on a huge cliffhanger in anticipation for book 2.
 
Evangeline is the Price family’s favored child and we see just how far her sister will go to claim power over the family. Then tension Lucy and A.J. create with the two sisters and the father is terrific and while the feelings the father has in regard to his daughters is not the norm for this trope and genre, it was done in a way where he wasn’t too soft.
 
This is a traditional arranged marriage mafia romance but Gaven is not a traditional made man. The age gap between Gaven and Angel was never explicitly defined but it is a larger one than I normally read. However, I found myself not minding it a ton since Gaven was ever evolving in this book. I enjoyed how his feelings kept changing in regards to his new wife and especially loved how he called Jaquelina for what she was right away.
 
This is a spicier read and it deals with kinks that are on the darker side. I found the chemistry and intensity between them to be good and hope we see more in the next book. I am looking forward to how book 2 will pick up after the shocking ending. I also am hoping Angel finds her inner spine so she can take Gaven head on. I am also anxious to see how she faces her sister.

This is the first book in the Sinister Arrangement Series, a Dark Mafia Romance. Gaven and Evangeline/Angel's age gap romance is intense, dark, passionate, and twisted. Michael Norman Johnson and Sarah Puckett did a great job bringing these characters, and this story to life. Looking forward to listening to Cruel Master, the the next book in the series, to know what happens next. #PFPAudio

This is the first book I've read/listened to by Lucy Smoke and A.J. Macey. Both are new to me authors. They make an excellent writing team. I was happy to be traveling so that I didn't have to pause the audiobook often. Arranged marriages are a favorite trope of mine. I was invested in the characters and hanging on to the storyline. I cannot wait for the next audiobook!


Michael Norman Johnson and Sarah Puckett are excellent narrators. Their performances were emotional and they brought this audiobook to life! Love their voices.

Wicked Angel is the first book in the Sinister Arrangement duet. This book had me in a chokehold. I devoured every bit. Lucy Smoke and A.J. Macey did a fantastic job with this book. I can't wait for the next book!

I thought this book was pretty good, it wasn't my favorite from these authors who I was pretty engaged and am itching for book 2 on audio because of how these authors left us! The tension and steam was great, and the suspense was on point, but some things were pretty predictable, esp regarding a certain loved one.

I enjoyed the back and forth between Gaven and Evangeline or Angel, the tension and unpredictability was fabulous, I felt like I was watching a thriller and not knowing what was going to happen next and being ready to close my eyes when a bad part comes on haha. I wasn't always a fan of Gaven, but that was the whole point. He had some awesome moments and his control and nuances with Angel and watching and observing her body and mannerisms was fun to listen to as the book went on. He couldn't help himself fall for her. I didn't mind the age gap, I can totally see the appeal. I know this was a dark romance so some of the things he went too far emotional and mentally not really physically. I was frustrated with the dad, but didn't he think he deserved what happened and that's all I will say. I want to throttle the sister, she is horrible from the very beginning. Hope she gets her karmic justice in book 2, gonna hold off from reading it so I can listen when it comes out on audio hopefully later this year.

In terms of the narration I enjoyed these narrators rendition. I usually enjoy the female narrator when I listen to her so that wasn't a surprise. I am not as familiar with the male narrator and he did a good job bringing Gaven to life with his scary yet sexy tone and hint of unhingedness hahaha. I wasn't a huge fan of how he did the father, but not a dealbreaker or anything. The turmoil Angel went through with wanting Gaven but disliking how he was treating her at the same time was well done. Gaven's personality shown through, how ruthless he could be but loyal to those he cared about/were loyal to him. And if you got on his bad side....watch out!

I thought this was a solid 4 stars, like I mentioned I need to know how Angel deals with that ending and how she gets her life back on track after the big betrayals in book 1. I also question how long things were happening towards the end (trying not to spoil anything) with Gaven's reach and expertise. That I thought didn't hold true to the rest of the story, but will hold off too much judgement until I listen to book 2 in the future haha.

Would listen to this again, but beware of the trigger warnings. Some things in terms of the sexy times with Gaven and Angel were great with the twists and turns, but the plot overall was predictable so just go in knowing that.
