Publisher's summary

Verity Jones has always been true to themself; even when it meant coming out as nonbinary at a young age and losing the love of their friends and parents. Years later, Verity is ensnared in a complicated, consuming, but purely platonic relationship with their best friend Landon. When Landon's high-school sweetheart re-enters the picture, Verity finds themself alone for the first time since college.

Content with the status quo, Aaron Hoffman finds his tight-knit circle of friends shaken up when Gregory introduces him to Landon, and Landon's roommate and business partner, Verity. From the first time they speak, Aaron is fascinated by the elusive, rose-scented person behind the bar at Rapture. Determined to know them better, Aaron focuses his attention on convincing Verity he's worth their time.

Aaron's steadfastness and patience offer Verity the stability they're looking for, giving them both a place to explore new facets to the dynamic lifestyle they'd lived in the past. Venturing into the unknown is daunting, but to find love, Verity and Aaron will need to take the chance.

Contains mature themes.

Loved Verity and Aaron

Nonbinary character was new to me.
The story of Verity and Aaron was so sweet. Verity had a lot of childhood trauma for being who she was so it took a special patient person to win them. Aaron was just the man and his character was so much better for that. The way he loved them all out.
I do think the author could have referenced what genitalia Verity had because there is nothing worse when you don’t understand parts of a story. One reference was all that was needed. I understand the author keeping to Verity’s sexual preference being nonbinary but I also think you did a disservice to your readers. Parts of this book is sex! If it wasn’t based on sex then it wouldn’t have mattered so much.
I still don’t like Gregory. LOL. Why everyone thanks him for everything is beyond me. The two men who stood out for their mates are Aaron and Jack. Those were the shunning stars of the series.

Lovely

3.5 to 4 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames

Narrator Z.A. Martin smoothly delivered a beautiful rare story about two people who fit together like " two peas in a pod". He brings an upbeat tempo to his performances. It kept me focused on the plot and it creates humorous dialogues. Verity is a very special and unique person who uses the pronoun "they" we get to hear their story, without much drama. I am impressed by the authors direction and approach to their story and their self identity. The attraction and love between the two lovers were the main focus, while we hear and learn about their uniqueness.

I recommend this audiobook, especially if you want to learn more about people who use the pronoun "them", "they", "we", "us" and "our".

Happy Listening
