About this listen

Vanessa Carmichael will never forget that horrible day for as long as she lives. With Zane fully on the mend from the brutal attack he suffered right in her very own yard, she knows she should be grateful, which she is. She also knows that walking away from Zane might be the only way to keep him safe. V knows she can't trust her own heart, especially when it comes to the youngest Walker brother. But he's not the kind of man who will walk away when there is something he wants.

Zane Walker spent months in the hospital after the attack, but he walked away with his life. Now that he's out of the hospital, he has only one goal in mind: Getting the girl. From the first time he kissed her, Zane knew V was the one for him. He also knew that getting her wasn't going to be easy. She's stubborn, and the walls she has erected around her heart are nearly impenetrable. But the thing about Zane is that he never gives up - and he's not about to start now.

Can V learn to open her heart to the one man who is desperate to get past those walls she has erected, or will she walk away to protect him? How long will Zane allow her to deny what he knows is growing between them? Is the only option to obscure the underlying emotions with spine-tingling lust? When V and Zane come together, smoke detectors go on the fritz, but when they bring Zane's best friend Beau into the mix, extra fire extinguishers are needed.

Loved. It

Just as good as Kaleb was. The kiss between Travis and Calb was wonderful. The book was great. Zane & Joey and Bo great.

liked it overall

I actually started this story being judgy, thinking that I won't like it. And, well, at the start, it feels like, it would be just an ok book.. not something i love, but not something I dislike, either.
but the more I've listened, the more I actually enjoyed the story..? I actually end up liking Zane and Vanessa. and Beau is just beautiful..
I love the hilarity that Zane was the one to accidentally discover stuff about his brothers.. and how he'd run away, repeating 'not my business' to himself.
I just literally love the drama of it all. 😆

So much better than Kaleb

Borrowed via Audible Escape. Story 3.5 stars, narrators solid 4 stars for both.

This was a significant improvement on Kaleb in terms of consistency/quality of narrators and plot. Even with the youngest Walker brother as MC, 24 yo Zane, this felt much more mature than book 1. Vanessa’s (henceforth shall be called just V) issues, especially PTSD, were handled by all like adults.

The secondary characters as well were treated to more cohesive development instead of what felt like “vaguebooking” last time. I feel more invested in hearing about Travis and can’t wait for Beau to get his HEA.

Content FYI: MF, MFM, MMF, & some MM kissing between secondary characters.

Still reeling

There is just something about this series... It doesn't really even deal with the club that they are supposedly opening but I don't even care because the story lines are so good and the steam is off the charts.

In this book we read about Vanessa (or V as they call her) and Zane. Zane was attacked and it left V emotionally scarred but she is trying to deal with it on her own. But sometimes you need your people, and her people step for her in a big way.

Love it, can't wait for the next.

Jameson and Seraphine were awesome narrators. Since it's written in 3rd person, there is no real need for dual narration but I'm actually really glad they did it this way because they do focus on one character at a time.

Young Love

Would you listen to Zane again? Why?

No once was very nice but not that I needed to hear it again

What other book might you compare Zane to and why?

None of the other books I read in the past

What about Jameson Adams and Seraphine Valentine ’s performance did you like?

They brought out the story line and fights/love between the two lovers

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It was a good book but I would not make a film of it

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I loved these characters! I get so excited when I get a little Ménage in my smut with an actual story line! Especially a little MMF Ménage too! Zane & V's relationship is combustible from the start but this book was also sweet. This is a love story most of all but also HOT HOT HOT!

Narration is good, perfect for the alpha males in this story.

TOTALLY LOVING THIS SERIES!

I don't know why I loved this book so much but I really did! ZANE had me mesmerized with every word spoken. There were moments that I thought my skin was on fire it was so hot! This book isn't for everyone, the plot isn't super deep and some characters are a bit one-dimensional. Truth be told, I think that goes for the series, but I'm loving it so far! There are tons of characters so you've got to keep up, and they're all sleeping with each other! Lots of bi-curiosity going on, and it wasn't distasteful, in fact, it's one of the funnier and hotter aspects of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed the male narrator--he gave Zane so much life and character, I laughed out right many times throughout. If you're in the mood for a little country sass and erotica, try this one of for size, you won't be disappointed!

The Walker men are swoon-worthy as ever

The relationships in this book were intense and I wasn't entirely prepared for the way I connected to them. The continuation from the first book of the series was seamless. I'm so impressed with the depth the author was able to provide with this book.

I hope that the stories continue being excellent throughout the series. Nothing worse than when an author loses steam... so far so good! Nicole Edwards is still proving to be an excellent story teller, a naughty girl, and more creative than I could have hoped for!

Bi-sexual

This took a bi-sexual turn. I think there should be a warning. Its not something I like to read about. Just not my cup of tea.

Too much

Too many happy threesomes. No one has any problems marrying one and sleeping with another. Not realistic. A couple of hot scenes but FFwd through some because they were repetitive after a while. Overall not enough plot for me.
