The Narration of the Walker's Lifesong is song by the Dashing , extraordinary Tor Thom ! His voice ..... (wow) really brought Curtis to life! I could feel all of Curtis's joy, tenderness, strength, pain, torment, adulation and Deep Love for Lorrie!!! I always love his narrations !!
And Tor's co-singer is the marvelous Charley Ongel ! She was perfect and amazing as Lorrie . Charley made me feel sooooo much sadness for Lorrie's life with her parents . I was never more Thankful than for Curtis to come to Lorrie's rescue. I could emotionally explore all of Lorrie's sorrow, fear, happiness, loneliness, courage and her Deep Love of Curtis!!

Beautifully written

What an amazing story, a book spans over 50 years and the love and loss of Curtis and Laurie. A love of a lifetime. It covers a wide range of events good and bad, but in the end all is well.

Where it all started!

I absolutely loved this book. Having it brought to life by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel made it even more special then when I read it myself. It was so nice to finally get Curtis & Lorrie's 50+ year love story. It's fun to finally see how much of a chip off the old block each one of his sons really is. ;) As we were already witness to all of their sons HEAs, being treated to how Curtis & Lorrie fell in love was just beautiful. This was like the missing piece to this series and I am thrilled that Nicole finally wrote it. I laughed and cried so many times during this book that it actually took me a little bit to decompress afterwards.

The Walker family saga - The beginning

Nicole Edwards know how to push my buttons with this story that's for sure!
I took a few trips down memory lane while listening to this story. It was very emotional at times.

Curtis is Lorri and Curtis Walker's story. The heads of the Walker family in Coyote Ridge.

Before this book I listened to the books about their sons and while doing so I wanted to know more about Lorri and Curtis.

In this book you get to know them both from the time they were teenagers. Follow them on their journey to adulthood, their ups and downs, their sorrows and their happiness.

I'm left of wanting more of this Walker family saga

Another entertaining story

I was so excited to listen to this book from Nicole Edwards and narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Angel and I was in no way disappointed. The narration, particularly by Tor Thom was spot and really enhanced my enjoyment of this story.
This is book 1 in Nicole Edward’s exciting new Coyote Ridge series and what a way to start. If I could rate this a 10 star read I would. Curtis and Lorrie Walker are the parents of the Walker Brothers from the Alluring Indulgence series. I waited impatiently for the book about the love between Curtis and Lorrie that formed the basis and created the wonderful Walker Brothers.
From the very first book in the Alluring Indulgence series, I fell for the backbone of the family; Curtis and Lorrie. Nicole Edwards in no way disappointed. This story which spanned over 50 years had it all from the beginning which terrified me to the very end. She took us on an emotional roller-coaster, never certain whether we were going to twist, turn or even do a 360 degree turn.
The love, courage and determination to make it through life’s ups and downs brought me to tears at times; not only because of heartbreak, but out of fear and sheer happiness.
The sexiness was there as well, but ultimately although that was extremely hot, it was the genuine love, respect and affection that Curtis and Lorrie have for each other which got me to my very soul. I always knew I was going to love this book, but I was blown away by how much it affected me. This is one of my most favourite books of Nicole Edwards of all time. The love between Curtis and Lorrie and the sheer solidarity offered by their children is simply beautiful.
The prologue hit me in the stomach straight away and from there I knew I was in for one heck of a book. When the going gets tough, the Walkers and their significant others and extended family are all there for each other. Standing shoulder to shoulder to fight this new challenge that could destroy them all, and at times I was worried it would.
The love letters and diary entries were beautiful to read and reading about their life over the 50 years in retrospect was breathtaking.
This book is an excellent example of Nicole Edwards writing. In fact I think this is the best book she has written in the last 12 months. I really loved it and cannot wait to read more from this author. Well done, you have another winning series on your hands.
I cannot recommend this book more highly.

Where the Walkers began

I have been a fan of Nicole Edwards for years and The Walkers Brothers series is where I got hooked. It was wonderful to get the original love story of how Curtis and Lorrie began. So much history. So much heart ache. Yet love and devotion persevered. I loved the way Curtis' story took the listener back to the 60's and brought us back to present day. Definitely recommend to any Nicole Edwards or Walker Brothers fan.

Tor Thom's voice was the perfect fit for this listener's idea of what Curtis would sound like in real life.It was as though he was Curtis himself.

A true love story

Nicole Edwards has once again given us a emotional love story that takes place over 50 years. I can only imagine how hard that must have been to write with it covering such a wide time frame.
This is the book that I couldn't wait to read Curtis and Lorrie's love story and its one of the most beautiful stories I have read or listened to and the narrators did a fantastic job portraying this loving couple.

"I've always believed for every person there was only one love that would last a lifetime I never understood what that meant till I met you though. You're it for me Lorrie. You are my love that lasts a lifetime" Curtis Walker”

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, I loved they how emotional they sounded and I loved how they managed to give us distinctive voices for the different characters that come into this wonderful love story. This is a definite must listen !!!!

How it all began!

I am a huge Nicole Edwards fan, but I think of all her stories, this is my favorite book. A look at the Walker family as it started. We take a walk down memory lane learning how Curtis and Lorrie got together, the trials of a young marriage, being separated by war and how they kept their love alive. I loved it from start to finish. Lorrie is a strong woman, but seeing her grow from the young teenager she was into the mother of 7 was a journey. Not always easy, Lorrie grew from each experience, learning and using the lessons learned. Curtis is a protective man, full of pride and though he made mistakes, he is not one not to own up to them. He is sweet, caring and can't help but fall for him just like Lorrie. As the boys and Curtis wait and worry as Lorrie is now sick, we get to fall in love with their lives. I especially loved the idea of the journals kept and how beautifully it documented their lives.

I enjoyed the narration of this book, it's one of my top listens of the year. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel gave such an incredible performance. With a slight twang to their voices, we are exported back into their lives. The two create a world for us to delve into, feel the emotions of their 50 year marriage and experience every heartache and every joy. To say they brought the story to life is an understatement as they truly became Curtis and Lorrie for me.

A great story of how it all began

Curtis is amazing. He has been through so much, from war, to years of separation from his new bride, to loss after loss and also happiness. His life was hard, but it did not harden him. His love for Lorrie is intense and unshakeable. Lorrie is such a strong woman. The trials she has lived through are just as difficult as Curtis'. Their love makes this story real. It gives depth to the family, characters and entire series. There is so much emotion in this book that it is a very intense story. I could not stop listening. There were times I held my breath. There were times I cried. There were times I laughed. But through the whole story, I never wanted it to end.

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel truly make the perfect narrating team for this story. Tor Thom's deep voice brings Curtis to life. Every emotion, action and reaction from Curtis was perfectly narrated by Tor Thom. Mr. Thom's different tones makes it very easy to follow the story and characters. Charley Ongel's voice is always a great contrast to Tor Thom's. Ms Ongel brings Lorrie to life. She narrates Lorrie exactly as I imagined Lorrie to be, sweet yet strong. The chemistry between Tor Thom and Charley Ongel helps bring out the intense love between Curtis and Lorrie. This book is a must listen!
