Aijan is a British author with Kyrgyz roots, best known for her enchanting children’s book series Maxat the Magician. Inspired by her young son and the breathtaking landscapes of Kyrgyzstan—often called “the Switzerland of Central Asia”—Aijan brings together fantasy, adventure, and folklore in a way that captivates readers of all ages. She began writing stories at the age of seven, though she was a quiet child who barely spoke until she was three. Her aunt once joked, “She must have been thinking a lot and observing the world!” Over the years, Aijan’s creative voice grew stronger. Her school stories were noticed by her literature teacher, and as a teenager and university student, she continued to write—this time exploring philosophy, psychology, and life’s everyday magic through allegorical tales with animals and humor. Guided by values of kindness, beauty, and inner strength, Aijan wrote the Maxat series to inspire children to dream, grow, and believe in themselves. Each book is richly illustrated and full of magical adventures—designed to entertain and educate at the same time.
