Alain is from Northern Ireland and is husband to Rachel and Dad to Annie, Erin and Finn. He has the privilege of serving as Lead Pastor of Emmanuel Church Portadown, overseeing the Tobar Family of Churches in Ireland and serving as the Director of the 24-7 Prayer Communities Network. After completing a BSc in Information Management at Queens University Belfast and a Masters in Divinity from Union College Belfast, Alain has been involved in full-time ministry since his early twenties. Alongside his day-to-day leadership in local churches, Alain currently lectures on the Church Planting and Leadership Module at Westminster Theological Centre. He is the author of ‘Luminous Dark' a deeply personal account of his own grief journey. Alain is excited about seeing God do a ‘new thing’ in Ireland, raising up the next generation of leaders of the church, and witnessing a spiralling network of 24-7 Prayer Communities, built upon the shared values of prayer, mission and justice established in the nations. Alain is a former Irish League footballer who these days enjoy watching sport rather than playing it. Other things he is passionate about are reading, hanging out with friends, holidays with his family and Liverpool Football Club (YNWA).
