Alice K. Boatwright is the author of award-winning mysteries and other fiction. Her mysteries about the skeptical American Ellie Kent, who marries a handsome English vicar and moves to his Cotswold village, have generated an enthusiastic following. The first book, UNDER AN ENGLISH HEAVEN, won 2016 Mystery & Mayhem Grand Prize for best mystery, and is followed by WHAT CHILD IS THIS? (Book 2), a popular Christmas read, and IN THE LIFE EVER AFTER (Book 3). In August 2019, Alice's historical fiction about the Vietnam era, COLLATERAL DAMAGE, was released in a new edition by Standing Stone Books in recognition of the 50th anniversary of the war. That same year, Alice also published SEA, SKY, ISLANDS, a chapbook of stories about the San Juan islands with illustrations by Canadian artist, Marsha Karr. Alice published her debut children's book, MRS. POTTS FINDS THANKSGIVING, in 2022. This story for ages 8 to 108 was inspired by A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, but without the scary ghosts, as one young reader was pleased to note. After 10 years of living in England and France, Alice now makes her home in the Seattle area, where she active in the writing community and currently serves as vice president of the Puget Sound chapter of Sisters in Crime and convenor of the UK Crime Writers Association's North America Chapter.
