Prof. Dr. Anabel Ternès von Hattburg is recognized as one of the leading minds in sustainability, innovation, and leadership. Forbes calls the TEDx speaker a “Superwoman,” while HypoVereinsbank describes her as “one of Germany’s most outstanding managers and entrepreneurs.” Anabel is an entrepreneur, futurist, keynote speaker, bestselling author, and founder of multiple impact-driven startups. As CEO of BrightShift Media Group, Experts for Life, and Sustain Plus, she also serves as Executive Director of the Berlin-based SRH Institute for Innovation and Sustainable Management and is a professor of communication management, succeeding ZDF heute journal founder Dieter Kronzucker. A former top executive, she is the host of the weekly live radio show We Empower, publisher of several media formats, and a podcaster. Anabel is actively engaged as a board member of Plant-for-the-Planet, President of the Club of Budapest Germany and the International Embassy for Economic Affairs, a supervisory board member of PAN, and a member of Atlantik-Brücke, UN Women Germany, and the Club of Rome. Her commitment to environmental protection and human rights began early—at the age of seven, she founded an initiative against plastic waste, supported by Greenpeace. She has received over 40 international awards, including the Google Impact Challenge Award, recognition as a Role Model Entrepreneur by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, and LinkedIn Top Voice for sustainability. Anabel is committed as a mentor to women, young people with a migrant background, and social engagement, including at IWIL, Grace, Deutschlandstiftung Integration, and Global Shapers. She is also a fellow of several organizations, including the Aspen Institute, Stiftung Bürgermut, and Nexus.
