B.A. Crisp's childhood was marked by afternoons with her eccentric, cigar-smoking, one-legged grandfather, an engineer at a nuclear facility in Ohio, who nurtured her curiosity for science and the supernatural. At six, she was removed from his custody due to concerns about his lifestyle. Growing up as a ward of the court, Crisp found solace in reading, exploring the woods, and keeping journals. In the late 1970s, she moved to a remote Ohio farm, where she unknowingly explored restricted government property. DNA tests later revealed that the man she believed was her father was not, leaving many questions unanswered. Labeled by the juvenile court as an unruly runaway, she was a victim of what is now recognized as human trafficking. Despite a tumultuous youth, Crisp graduated Summa cum Laude from Ursuline College, earned a master’s degree from The George Washington University with a co-valedictorian distinction, attended the London School of Journalism, and joined Exeter College's International Students Summer Writing Program at Oxford University in the UK. She also worked in psychiatric assessment, co-owned a strip club, and volunteered against human trafficking, earning accolades for her efforts. Crisp forged a career in strategic intelligence, advising on national security and anti-human trafficking policies. Her debut, "Red Bird," became a #1 bestseller, followed by other acclaimed works.
