Barbara's writing career began in second grade with a poem and short story published in Junior Scholastics Magazine. But her book series, Cassandra McGillicuddy’s Adventures in Outer Space, complete with stick figure drawings, was panned by her fourth-grade teacher. Mortified, Barbara stopped writing, keeping her stories in her head for years. One day she opened her laptop and out they poured.
