**Bio** After losing my girlfriend to a hit-and-run driver, I needed to escape from everything. From my early teenage years living in a pub, I knew a family of gypsies who travelled the country from February to late November. They agreed to take me with them to the Appleby Fair that year, on the condition that I contribute, as it was not a free ride. They soon realised I had a knack for storytelling, a tradition they cherished around the campfire at night. Their stories were based on their lives or those of their ancestors. Since I didn't have hundreds of years of history to draw on, they would give me a subject or a character, and I would create a short story on the spot. I never knew in advance what I would say; it just flowed out. They threw me in at the deep end, and I enjoyed it far more than I ever expected. When they set up in a village or occasionally a town, I would perform my party trick. Someone from the audience would suggest a subject, and after Mahala, the singer, finished her turn, I would tell a short story based on the suggestion, often from someone they knew well, so they didn’t think it was a Gypsy trick. Now, with six children, the youngest being my fiftieth birthday present, I have a lot of bedtime stories to tell. My children always choose the storyline, often coming up with really imaginative ideas. My experience travelling with Bomber's family from Dorset to the Appleby Fair in a horse and cart taught me how much stories affect people. Perhaps I will pen that journey one day, as it profoundly changed my life. Since then, I have enjoyed returning to the stage on occasion, mostly in my 30s and 40s, usually to raise money for local charities, halls, churches, and schools. I always enjoyed the experience. My only daughter, now an early teen, convinced me to write a novel because she and her friends enjoyed my stories. Though my first novel is now being rewritten, I have learnt a lot from writing short stories under several pen names. I've had great success with some of them, which served as my learning curve. My first series under the pen name Barrel Coops, titled "Bella" after my daughter, was released in early 2022. The five books took just five months to write and six months to edit, mainly due to my struggles with spelling and punctuation. Dyslexia has always been a challenge, but I thank god for grammar and spell checkers. Despite this, I will keep writing. I hope my stories interest and maybe even inspire you. I truly hope you enjoy them. **Footnote** I hope my author profile will tell you more about me, why I write the way I do, and my storytelling background. I am a storyteller, not a novelist with a great literary background. My books are as I would have told them on stage. I don’t include endless descriptions or detailed character profiles for minor characters. I prefer to keep the story flowing, free from extensive mundane descriptions.
