JOHN MOLLOY (1964~2017) was born in Glasgow and has lived in London as well as his current home town of Glasgow, where he recently resided... but tragically passed away on September 30th, 2017, aged 53. He was of Scots/Irish ancestry. He grew up in Glasgow, Scotland where he attended St Ninian’s Primary School, Knightswood and St Thomas Aquinas Secondary School, Jordanhill (as did some notable others, such as the actor, James McAvoy; singer, Justin Osuji and soccer player, Tosh McKinlay). He travelled the world extensively during his career with the Royal Navy. Being adopted from an early age, John believed that his research skills were gained through his personal search for his natural birth parents. His son, Shaun, lives and works in Scotland. John also had a long-standing relationship with the St Cyrus area and possessed as equal a passion for the story of George Beattie as his cousin and closest friend, Barry Dominic Graham. He was also dedicated to the task of reintroducing and restoring the true story, memory and literary legacy of this forgotten Scottish treasure to their rightful place in history. His interests included: writing, nature, history, philosophy and Truth-seeking. THE GEORGE BEATTIE PROJECT www.thegeorgebeattieproject.co.uk
