Brigadier General (BVT) Bentley Nettles is a decorated war veteran, licensed attorney, and most recently an executive director of a well-known Texas state agency (the TABC - Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission). Appointed to his post in the midst of a scandal, he brought new insights to his leadership role, dramatically increasing agency efficiency while making progress in the fight against human trafficking. A dedicated veteran, he has deployed to multiple combat theaters around the world, including Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. His distinguished service earned him the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and the Purple Heart. He has served in the Army and the Army National Guard, and is the past chairman of Brazos Valley Cares, an organization dedicated to serving military veterans and their families. He serves on the Board of the Bryan, Texas Utilities Commission Bentley and his wife Tracy, currently reside in College Station, Texas, with their two sons.
