As a teacher and school counselor on the Yakima Indian Reservation, Brenda B Batali developed a knowledge and understanding of differing traditions and life styles. She and her husband raised their family on a diversified farm including a vineyard in Washington state. With a Master's Degree in Counseling from Central Washington University, she conferred with associates during her consortium training and beyond as she worked with student and educators throughout her years in the Washington state educational system, gaining knowledge and insights from this collaboration. A complication of these experiences served to inspire the writing of Corporate Murder. John Aubrey Kramien, her grandfather, instilled in her the love of writing as he wrote two books and several anthologies. Brenda edited and published his second book, Wagons of Destiny, when she discovered the manuscript several years after his death. Her enjoyment watching whales frolic in Baja and love of sharing a glass of wine with friends inspired her to write Voyage to Vintner, a novel of historical fiction. She and Gene now reside in Oceanside, California, keeping an eye toward the sea for a glimpse of migrating whales heading to the North Bering Sea and Point Barrow.
