Burkley was born and raised on the old dirt roads of Signal Hill in the deep woods of the Ozark Mountains - in a small town called Mountain View, Arkansas. After graduating with honors and starting his first semester - misguided and reckless decisions turned his college dreams into the harsh realities of a two year prison term. He spent the next five hundred and seventeen days getting a vocational business computer degree, regretting his life choices and devouring every book or newspaper he could get his hands on. Eager to expand his horizons after an extended vacation on Bunk C4-52, inside the luxurious accommodations at the Larry Gist Correctional Facility, he spent the next two decades living all around America. Struggling to make a life as an ex con, he worked as a construction worker, a realtor, an entrepreneur, a restauranteur, a boxer, and a professional poker player. Along the way, he learned a lot about living and got lucky enough to find the love of his life. With a Bonnie to his Clyde, he managed to keep two amazing kids alive all the way through high school. He looks forward to spoiling his grandkids and seeing what kind of man his son will become. Nowadays, he works part time out of his family home in East Texas and writes books in his suddenly empty nest. Someday he hopes to have robot legs - or at least a metal foot. In the meantime, he spends his days having as much fun as he can get away with. Never take life too seriously, 'cause that's when you have to grow up. And everybody knows, grownups don't have any fun. - The only thing I know for sure, is that I know nothing for sure. - -BOS
