Cathy Hodsdon, was raised in the beautiful coastal town of Santa Cruz, California. Her summers were spent in the Sierra Mountains near Lake Tahoe, which is the inspiration for many of her outdoor, themed children's picture books. Her first children's picture book, "Tug's Good Life," was written after the passing of her Labrador Retriever, Tug. It was a way to honor Tug, but also, lots of fun to write about some of Tug's real life antics. Cathy's books are written from personal experience which make the stories memorable. Two books, "Fauna the Fox Pup, and Let's Go Camping," are written about her summer memories of the Sierra Mountains. She combined winter with garbage trucks in "Commissioner of Garbage," as a way to include her Grandsons fascination playing with garbage trucks. Cathy has written "Betti the Yeti," because she loves everything Yeti and wanted Betti to be kind and fun. Cathy lives in Northern California.
