Chanel Contos founded Teach Us Consent, a campaign that mandated consent education in Australia and criminalized stealthing in multiple Australian states. Chanel has a Masters in Education, Gender and International Development from University College London and a Masters of Public Policy from Oxford University, where she was a Governor Phillips scholar. Chanel is also the Chair of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership’s Youth Advisory Committee. In 2022, Chanel was named by the BBC World as one of 100 Inspiring and Influential women worldwide, in 2021 she was presented with the Australian Human Right's Commission's Young People's Medal for her humanitarian work, and in 2023 she was named NSW Young Woman of the Year. Her ethos is 'be ruthless with systems, and kind to people' and she aims to embed this in all of her work and particularly in her role as CEO of Teach Us Consent, as she tackles the mammoth issue of sexual violence with empathy.
