Charles Shefler grew up in a secular Jewish family, and as an adult seeker explored Orthodox Judaism. There, he discovered that his delight in the Torah battled endlessly with the sin to which he was a prisoner. He was forced to recognize himself as spiritually and morally bankrupt. When his life hit rock bottom in 2000, he heard about Jesus, the Jewish messiah who alone is powerful to rescue, save and deliver. He ran into Jesus’ arms. That cost him many relationships with family and friends who said it isn’t possible to remain Jewish and believe in Jesus. Charles came, instead, to understand himself as a completed Jew according to God’s promise to Abraham. He also recognized that just as most Jews are blinded to the truth of Jesus the Messiah, so the Gentile church is generally blind to God’s promises to and working through Israel. They know they are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6), and bless Israel (Genesis 12:3), but don’t understand why. Charles’ extensive and deep understanding of the Bible, exposure to the best Jewish Messianic and Christian teachings and travels through Israel, make him a credible voice to unearth the biblical narrative of God's redemptive mission for humankind, and the significance in Israel and her vital role in God's plan and things to come. Charles has a way of rendering complex ideas and concepts in simpler ways for the layman to easily digest. He is a seasoned speaker and new author with a unique depth of knowledge and blended insight gained from a background that spans the Messianic Jewish and Christian faith communities, corporate and consulting worlds.
