Charlie Gray is a recovering alcoholic sharing the experience of addiction, relapse, and sobriety in his quit lit memoir trilogy, Charlie & The Frog. Living eleven long years as a high-functioning alcoholic, he attended a plethora of treatment centers (rehabs), detox facilities, psychiatric wards, hospitals, and sober homes across the United States. Through these visits, he was exposed to multiple forms of addiction therapy, including Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), Outpatient Programs (OP), Twelve Step Programs, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), equine therapy, music/art therapy, SMART Recovery, holistic and spiritual wellness, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT Recovery) for alcohol dependence (Vivitrol and Campral). His story offers unique insight into the method and mind of a chronically relapsing alcoholic, and the tools necessary to combat such an affliction. Charlie lives in his quaint Missouri hometown with his family, friends, and cats: Klaus and Rory. He enjoys traveling, green tea, surfing Wikipedia, pickles, and writing.
