Reader. Writer. Teacher. DiLeo is the author of numerous books. His novels are set in an alternate version of NY's Hudson Valley, where he’s lived his whole life and has taught high school English for twenty years. He loves exploring the inner-realms of characters and then bringing on the horror. He loves stories that force characters into extreme situations, those scenarios where there's no choice but to confront the monster—be it human or supernatural. Horror, for DiLeo, is the purest genre because it doesn’t look away. DiLeo’s fondness for the unquiet coffin was fostered by an academic father whose love of the macabre passed on to DiLeo through a coffin-shaped bookcase containing his father’s favorite horror novels. Ever since DiLeo inherited that coffin, he has been enthralled by (and afraid of) the chaos lurking beneath the commonplace, the horrors of men and monsters. Praise for DiLeo's work: "EMPTY DEVILS is a surprisingly complex and beautiful treatise on grief, hate, memory, and monsters. DiLeo writes some kick-ass bloody action then follows it up with gut-punch passages about love. The ending will haunt me for a long time." Sam Rebelein, Bram Stoker Award-nominated author of The Poorly Made and Other Things "A bloody tale of loss and vengeance, EMPTY DEVILS is razor sharp and cuts deep." Chris Panatier, author of The Redemption of Morgan Bright "Aggressive. Heartfelt. [EMPTY DEVILS] is going to piss all the right people off." L.P. Hernandez, author of No Gods, Only Chaos "Chris DiLeo is a remarkable writer, with a clear ability to evoke character, conjure dread — and to do whatever it is that drives the reader to keep turning the pages, one by one, and faster and faster." Michael Marshall, NY Times bestselling author of The Intruders, and The Straw Men "THE DEVIL VIRUS does what the best supernatural fiction must—ground the terror in the human heart. Chris DiLeo delivers a story of faith and fear with a skilled, steady hand. Follow him into the dark!" Michael Koryta, NY Times bestselling author of If She Wakes and The Prophet "THE DEVIL VIRUS is out now and deeply creepy! Check it out if you like your horror thoughtful and, um, horrific." Kelly Braffet, author of Save Yourself “DEAD END is worthwhile, imaginative, [and] creepy. [...] DiLeo has powerful writing chops and original ideas. I'd definitely read more from this author.” Sadie “Mother Horror” Hartmann "A welcome new entry into the world of supernatural fiction. DiLeo enters the dark without flinching and delivers the goods." Scott Nicholson, bestselling author of The Red Church Amazon reviewers are saying, “DiLeo’s horror skills are undeniable. He’s a master of suspense and understands the parameters and power of the monsters he’s created . . . [DiLeo’s] prose is first-rate and engaging . . . [It’s] like reading a horror movie . . . [With] deftly blend[ed] suspense, action . . . Dark, dramatic, and thoroughly chilling . . . [You’ll be] grabbed by the first page until the very last word . . . Disturbing and perturbing, and rampantly unsettling . . . [There will be] nightmares for a lot of us . . . DiLeo is definitely on the very dark and disturbing side of the scale.”
