Chris R Young was born in Glasgow, Scotland and began writing diaries and short stories in his teenage years. His first published story was "A Talk With Death by Mark R Cain" included in an anthology from writers in Strathclyde called Paperclips. Since then he has traveled and written horror, science fiction, humour, poetry and memoirs. 'Tokyomares', his supernatural fiction novel set in Japan, where he wrote it while teaching English in his twenties, was self published in 2003. 'The Old Mice Killer', the first Jake Jones sleuth-hound case, was self published as an ebook and paperback novella in 2017. In 2019 one of his short stories 'Thick As Thieves' was included in an anthology published by Coffin Hop Press called 'Knucklehead Noir'. He is currently working on Jake Jones' 2nd case 'The Coffee Cup Killer' and a collection of his short stories from 2000 - 2020 called 'Hidden In The Old Stone Wall'.
