IN A NUTSHELL I'm an award-winning and Amazon best-selling author. I'm represented by Victorina Press, an independent UK publisher. I've been an Award-Winning Finalist in the 'Fiction: Short Story' category of the International Book Awards. I play drums in rock bands and regularly tour all over the world. A more lengthy biography can be found below. ME I was born in the 70s, which is too long ago for my liking. I've played drums in a rock band for over 30 years and have been fortunate enough to tour all over the planet. I’m sure this has been more educational than university or a ‘proper job’ could have been. I started writing fiction seriously in the noughties. I self-published my first book, Wicked Game, in 2010. To avoid a mental breakdown, I then started writing short stories as they’re a lot easier to finish. HOW TO WRITE A SHORT STORY, GET PUBLISHED & MAKE MONEY Due to my success with short story writing, I wrote a book called How To Write A Short Story, Get Published & Make Money. It uses 16 of my published stories as case studies, so writers can see how all the different tips and advice in the book were used in practice to achieve publishing success. TO HULL AND BACK HUMOROUS SHORT STORY COMPETITION I also run the biennial ‘To Hull And Back’ humorous short story competition, which offers the greatest prize in the known macrocosm. Part of it is cash (the top prize is currently £1,000), but there is more… much more. You’ll have to check my website for full details. All the anthologies from the competition are available on Amazon and each one contains over 25 stories of 'Mirth and Legend' from some of the finest humorous story writers on the globe. VICTORINA PRESS In March 2019 I signed a publishing contract with Victorina Press, an independent UK publisher whose mission is to publish inspirational and great books while following principles of bibliodiversity. They are publishing my first short story collection, Book of the Bloodless Volume 1: Alternative Afterlives. The book has been awarded the title of "Award-Winning Finalist in the Fiction: Short Story category of the 2019 International Book Awards", sponsored by American Book Fest. MUSIC My main musical focus is currently playing drums with Little Villains, a rock band that originally featured the late, great Philthy Animal Taylor from Motörhead.
