Christy Namondo Menyoli was born on October 2nd, 1971 in British Southern Cameroons (today Ambazonia). Her love for playing with words and creative writing was sparked during her elementary school days while writing letters for her maternal grandmother Yaya, to send to some family members in distant lands. She moved to the U.S. in the early 1990's to study English, with the intention of returning to her hometown of Gbeya/Buea, at the foot of Mount Phako/Fako - the highest peak in West and Central Africa, to teach. An interest in becoming a Medical Reporter led her into pursuing nursing in 2009. Today, as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), although she finds fulfillment in providing clinically advanced, high-quality, cost-effective, compassionate care to medically-complex and technology-reliant patients, writing books she wish she read as a child, and books that positively impact the lives of others, brings her added joy. Menyoli earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in mass communications/journalism from Mankato (now Minnesota) State University, and a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She resides in Chicago, Illinois with her husband. Her two children are her inspiration.
