Cisco has led a colorful life full of variety and adventure. After college, she was a VISTA volunteer working as a welfare rights advocate in a legal aid office. At the end of her term of service, she helped found a woman-run natural foods distributing collective. She managed the business with a team of 35 others and drove semi-trucks up and down the west coast delivering to natural food stores. During that time she was also the lead singer in a rock and roll band. She then went into construction and worked as a licensed general contractor for many years. Later, her experience with construction qualified her to administer a federal housing rehabilitation grant as the Director of Housing for a municipality. When the grant program ended, she started a trail riding business taking people into the mountains on horseback. She moved to Seattle where she worked as the Program Manager for the Seattle Housing Authority. She and her team managed 500 employees and 16,000 housing units. She was also Chairperson of the Housing Authority Finance Committee administering an 80 million dollar annual operating budget. From rainy grey Seattle she moved to sunny Santa Fe New Mexico and became the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity. In her spare time she built southwestern furniture. A few years later she became a real estate broker. She and her partner, Cidney, were engaged as the exclusive listing agents for one of the country’s first gay retirement communities. They were then recruited as the exclusive listing company for a multi-billion dollar lakeside community boasting a Jack Niclaus Signature golf course and 1200 homesites. They moved to Ashland Oregon in 2009 to help with the care of her aging parents and reside there currently. She and Cidney own and manage a small real estate company and spend much of their free time playing golf and hanging out with their dog, Spencer.
