Cole Moreton is a writer and broadcaster exploring who we are and what we believe in. His latest project Can We Talk? is a podcast collection of true short stories about encounters with remarkable people, the famous, the infamous and the extraordinary, and what we might learn from them about how to live. Series one includes Scarlett Johansson, Tiger Woods, Nelson Mandela, Desmond Tutu, the Queen and a refugee called Zahra who crossed the Channel in an overcrowded rubber boat at dawn on Christmas Day. Can We Talk? is brought to you by Hodder Faith and is available on all podcasting platforms now. A book will follow in Spring 2023. Cole writes and presents programmes for BBC Radio 4. His series The Boy Who Gave His Heart Away won Audio Moment of the Year at the Arias, the highest award at the radio industry Oscars. He is a regular contributor to Pause for Thought on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2. Cole was named Interviewer of the Year at the Press Awards 2016. His work has appeared in the Financial Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Mail and The i among many others. Hungry For Home: A Journey To America From The Edge Of Ireland was published by Viking in 2000. It was shortlisted for the prestigious John Llewellyn Rhys Prize for a first book in any genre. This was followed by My Father Was A Hero (Viking), Is God Still An Englishman? How Britain Lost Its Faith But Found New Soul (Little, Brown) and The Boy Who Gave His Heart Away (HarperCollins). His debut novel The Light Keeper is now out in paperback and is a story of love, hope, faith, grief and longing set in the spectacular landscape around Beachy Head on the South Coast of England. ‘Cole writes with bittersweet warmth and human emotion.
