Isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic provided me the time and space to write my memoir and self-help book, Living with Inattentive ADHD. This labor of love has been embraced by leading ADHD experts, including Drs. Dodson, Hallowell, Nadeau, Jain, Faraone, and others, whose outstanding reviews affirm its value for readers seeking understanding and hope. In Living with Inattentive ADHD, I share the hidden challenges of living with undiagnosed ADHD for the first 49 years of my life, followed by the next 30 years of learning, growth, and success after my diagnosis. My journey illustrates how life-changing an ADHD diagnosis can be and underscores the critical importance of identifying ADHD as early as possible. Early diagnosis changes lives. That’s why my mission is to ensure that all children with ADHD are diagnosed by age 7. No child should ever be overlooked or discounted. To further this goal, I created FINDtheADHDgirls, a resource hub dedicated to helping parents and educators recognize the often-hidden signs of ADHD in young girls and guiding them toward early intervention. Through my book and advocacy, I hope to inspire readers, educate others about inattentive ADHD, and ensure that no child’s potential is lost to a missed diagnosis.
