Cynthia McCoy-Miller assumed the role of Senior Deputy Director for the LA County Department of Children and Family Services, the largest child welfare agency in the nation, in 2012. With a tenure dating back to 1980, she has ascended through the organizational ranks, progressing from a clerk to her current position as a senior executive manager. In her capacity, Mrs. McCoy-Miller effectively leads and manages the most extensive and intricate administrative bureau within the department. Her experience in performance-based management and administration is reflected in her direct oversight of critical operations, including Contract Services, Finance and Administration, Administrative Support Services, Information Technology (IT) and Security, Operational Support Services, and Equity. Possessing a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California, a Bachelor of Social Work degree from California State Poly Pomona, and an Associate of Arts in Social Work degree from LA Southwest College, Mrs. McCoy-Miller has also completed the County of LA Executive Leadership Development Program. Beyond her professional achievements, Mrs. McCoy-Miller actively engages in the community, leveraging her platform to uplift, inspire, and contribute to the professional and personal growth of others. Her advocacy, coaching and mentoring, skill-building, and empowerment efforts extend to various local initiatives and events, including Anti-Racism, Diversity, and Inclusion (ARDI), "March of Dimes," and March for Babies. She serves as a longstanding Executive Board Advisor with the local African American Employee Association and is a current LA County Chicano Employee Association member. She received the "Standing Ovation Award" from the LA County African American Employee Association (LACAAEA) for outstanding leadership during Women’s History Month 2022. She was presented with the “Crystal Eagle Award” during the LACAAEA 2024 Black History Month Celebration. Mrs. McCoy-Miller was also recognized as a 2021 Continental Who’s Who recipient. Outside of her professional commitments, Mrs. McCoy-Miller hosts the podcast "Cynthia@theTable (CATT)," where she shares collective journeys, experiences, and stories to inspire and provide valuable information and tools for professional and personal growth. In 2021, she launched the CATT Leadership and Career Challenge, chronicling the journey of a cohort advancing to new careers and strengthening their leadership skills.
