Dr. Danett Bean, affectionately called Dr. Danett (Doctor of Acupuncture and Asian Medicine) is a caring and compassionate healer who began studying health in the early nineties. Since then, she has become certified, licensed, and skilled in a variety of health disciplines and has administered thousands of treatments to assist people towards better health. Though Dr. Danett's clinical experience is vast, her biggest health lesson came after having her son. Dr. Danett battled health conditions for years that almost took her life, but she survived victoriously and became passionate about helping spread awareness on Postnatal Depletion. This resulted in the authoring of her book, A Taste of our own Medicine: 3 Vital Keys to Ending Postnatal Depletion, Nurturing Mothers, And Improving Our Communities. Dr. Danett identifies how postnatal depletion and other conditions can adversely affect women's short- and long-term health. As such, she is dedicated to the essential practice of proper preventive care for women. This intersection of preventive care and women's health is where Dr. Danett feels most passionate and is why she continues to be a fierce advocate for ending Postnatal Depletion and other conditions that can potentially be avoided. This passion fueled the creation of Yoni Box, a health-savvy blog that serves to break the taboos related to women's reproductive health and provide natural-based perspectives and solutions. Dr. Danett has also authored Fibroid Prevention Guide and hosts Women's Wellness Wednesdays via her Facebook page. In addition, she offers natural remedies that can support women, young and old through key transitions in life. Dr. Danett lectures on this intersection of preventive care and women's health at various events (Click here to receive Dr. Danett Bean’s speaker one sheet and to inquire about her availability to talk at your organization or event). Additionally, Dr. Danett has created initiatives to support mother's including a weekly support group for mothers and wives (currently closed) and The Yoni Box Annual 21 Day Mother's Day Challenge. In her private practice, Dr. Danett has dedicated her life to helping black and brown women improve their lifespan and healthspan. Using integrative medicine, herbal therapy, lifestyle recommendations, acupuncture and other healing modalities via her signature, Back To The Middle Method, Dr. Danett addresses healing on a root level that aligns the body, mind and spirit for optimal health. Currently, she sees patients by appointment in her Crown Heights, Brooklyn office and offers virtual consultations to patients across the United States and all over the world. Dr. Danett has a Doctoral Asian medical specialization in women’s health and geriatrics, with a Diplomate of Asian medicine. A New York state licensed acupuncturist, Dr. Danett is certified in Chinese herbology, eastern nutrition and Earth Qi Gong for women. She also has an academic appointment at SUNY Downstate Hospital, and has taught obstetrics and gynecology at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, NYC. A former member of the medical staff of the Women’s Health Center Empowerment Division at Housing Works and assistant producer of Global Medicine Review, Dr. Danett has helped organize community health expos including collaborations with CCCADI, WBAI and Baruch College. She also has been a featured guest on radio and television media. Currently residing in Brooklyn NY, Dr. Danett is a mother and wife.
