Bill is a a former owner/operator of Fly Fishing Outfitters, a business he successfully ran for over two decades. After selling the fly shop in 2008, he transitioned to part-time guiding, continuing to share his expertise on the water. A highly accomplished angler, Bill is a member of the Freshwater Fisheries Hall of Fame, an IGFA World record holder for Kokanee Salmon in the South Platte River, a four-time Colorado Master Angler, and a two-time Orvis Outfitter of the Year. He also served as a professor of fly fishing at Colorado Mountain College for over a decade, teaching the accredited Fly Fishing 101 course every fall. As a founding board member of the Eagle River Coalition, Bill has long been dedicated to conservation and education in the fly-fishing community. Since the early '90s, he has specialized in guide training schools and rowing certifica-tion programs, accumulating over 20,000 commercial river miles as a guide and trainer. Between 2009 and 2018, Bill worked with Vail Valley Anglers as a resort marketing specialist, content writer, guide train-er, and professional guide. When he's not marketing map products or writing books, he leads private rowing schools and float trips on the Eagle and Colorado Rivers for Colorado Angling Company, a team of expert guides based in a river-side cabin in Wolcott, Colorado. A graduate of St. Michael’s College in Vermont, Bill is often referred to as a “guide’s guide.” He has led trips for renowned anglers, from John Barr to Flip Pallot, and his fly patterns have been featured in Orvis and on the cover of Fly Tying Magazine. A two-time champion of the Eagle Valley Fall Fly Fishing Classic, he remains an active member of the Eagle Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Daniel Bryant, an entrepreneur and author, resides in Avon, Colorado, with his beloved wife Henrietta, affectionately known as Henny. Bryant’s deep passion for the outdoors eventually led him to achieve one of his lifelong dreams: becoming a fly-fishing guide in Alaska. This adventurous career nearly turned tragic when he survived a grizzly bear attack on July 2, 1980—a date that would later hold significant personal importance. Six years after this incident, Bryant met his future wife, Henny, while working at a hotel in Vail, Colorado. They married on July 2, 1988, and soon thereafter, both embraced Christianity as a central aspect of their lives. Today, Bryant co-owns Map the Xperience, an outdoor recreation map company, with his partner Greg. He dedicates most of his leisure time to outdoor activities such as fly-fishing and hunting, and cherishes moments spent with his family. Throughout various personal challenges, including the loss of loved ones, health issues, and life’s general trials, Bryant’s faith in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit has remained steadfast.
