Daniel Jolls holds a B.A. in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He served as the president of the Newman Catholic Student Organization at UIC's St. John Paul II Newman Center from 2017 to 2018. In this role, he orchestrated over 50 campus outreach events. In 2017, he wrote and presented a senior honors thesis entitled, "Mental Health in Cinema: A Spectatorship and Allegiance Approach," identifying and analyzing the positive trends in how mentally ill individuals are represented in film. He reworked his thesis to specifically highlight mentally ill youth for a presentation at the UNIV Congress in Rome, Italy in the spring of 2018.
