Darby Briar is an American author who loves writing stories about men with broken souls and women who don’t know their own strength. She’s a lover of fiction and epic stories but prefers stories with hard-won romance and ones that include an ending worthy of their struggle. She grew up in Utah and still lives in the northern part of the state with her three adorable kids, whom Darby refers to as her minions. She credits her grandma with influencing her love of romance dramas. She grew up sitting next to her as she watched soap operas, and Darby distinctly remembers the “scandalous” books sitting out in the open on her coffee table. Darby took a few years off of writing to raise her kids and is working on her degree in Creative Writing. She is back to writing full-time and plans to steadily release books going forward. Burning Ember was her debut novel. It reached Amazon's top 100 in the Romantic Suspense category. Burning Ember also won URWA's Book of the Year and has received glowing reviews from readers and fans. The Christmas story novella A Perfect Christmas with Chaos was released in 2016. Lost Lyrebird is the next novel in the Harbingers of Chaos series and is set for release by the end of 2024 or the very beginning of 2025. Lost Lyrebird has already won URWA’s Golden Pen Award. Darby feels it is indeed worthy of following Burning Ember.
