David Vaux served 15 years in the Fire service both on operational duties and as a Physical education officer until a career ending injury. Subsequently he retrained as an Osteopath and threw himself into the world of academia, successfully applying strength and movement in the management of his own condition. David draws on his lived experience in his clinical work, having also successfully worked in international sports and the performing arts combining injury prevention with conditioning advice. In addition to this David is Head of therapy and exercise for a leading arthritis charity. He is an authority on older age strength and resilience, regularly working on projects within the UK Healthy Aging challenge. David is a vocal advocate for breaking down the barriers to strength training in middle or older age and how to train smart for long term health. His new rescue mission is the democratization of strength for all, in the fight for optimal immunity, independent aging and resilience for an aging population. ‘Strength is your pension.
