I desire to inspire people to sharpen their focus on undervalued, unseen people, locally and globally, lead them to meet those people at the point of their pain and offer them a hope-filled future. Through challenging words and inspiring stories, I get to the point quickly about the need to help broken people wherever they are.I have served a local church as a missions minister and have worked in a global anti-trafficking nonprofit, She Is Safe, as Indonesian Country Director and as Director of Communications. I have communication degrees from Ouachita Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have written content for a variety of nonprofits through my business, DLS Communicator for Global Good. My writing pieces have been published in church-related and missions-related curriculum. I’ve compiled a devotional book for teenage girls, Quest Reflections: God’s Handwriting on my Heart (out of print). My story, “Is It Fun Being a Mommy,” was printed in Chicken Soup for the Mother and Daughter Soul. My writing life now includes filling my weekly newsletter, A Good Word Wednesday, with bite-sized slices of life from my own experiences and from those I have met around the world. My book, Unseen People: Sharing Light and Life with Your Neighbors and the Nations, will be released by Ambassador International August 6, 2024. I live in Duncan, Oklahoma with my husband, Johnny, and our two Yellow Labradors. I love long walks and then relaxing on my deck, watching birds, sipping flavorful coffee and savoring one of the several books I enjoy reading at the same time. I enjoy spending time with my children and five grandchildren, all of whom live nearby.
