Derek Newberry is an Affiliated Faculty member in the College of Liberal and Professional Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and an organizational development consultant, helping leaders build strong cultures and great communities in their organizations across a range of sectors and industries. He also leads workshops on teams, culture, and communication at the Wharton School. Derek's work has been featured in Forbes, Quartz, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and leading industry publications. He designed and launched a series of Coursera courses on building high-performing teams with University of Pennsylvania colleagues that have educated thousands of learners and was selected as a Best Online Business Course by Poets & Quants. Derek received his Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania, where he won a National Science Foundation grant to support his research on organizational barriers to change in the Brazilian energy industry.
