Devon Ortega is a poet, fiction writer, developmental editor, bartender, artist, wife, and mother of four. She also has a day job. Gift ideas: anything macabre, weird taxidermy, books, glue, pretty rocks, trips to literally anywhere, and journals to write to-do lists/doodle pictures of eyeballs/describe herself in third person in her best penmanship. Devon obtained her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and her master’s degree in creative writing at Ohio University. She was the recipient of the 2011 Gertrude Lucille Robinson Award for her poetry series “Tavern at Ten.” Her poetry and short fiction has appeared in Barren Magazine, Azure: A Journal of Literary Thought, Door Is A Jar, Outcasts: an Anthology, among others. Currently, Devon is the fantasy editor at The Worlds Within magazine and lives in Ohio with her husband, four children, two dogs, her precious snake, and a cat who hates everyone.
