Updated: Fall 2021 I have left the Grey Wolf Resort and Ranch deciding to journey once more to expand my horizons. Joining AmeriCorps and Habitat for Humanity I have been assigned to the Metro Denver Affiliate. Working as a New Project Construction Leader my skill set has increased each day but i continue to write and hope you are safe wherever you are. New books, new volumes, new ideas keep me pushing the edge. May you find your dreams. Updated: The summer 2020 has been busy here at The Grey Wolf Resort and Ranch. I have been writing just not finding the time to edit and publish. Now that the leaves are changing I have found some time. I have been publishing The Canticles, The Epistles, A Ledger of Poems, A Little Book of Poems, A Collection of Poems, among others. Take a moment to find them. Read them. and Enjoy. The third book of the Far and Away, A True Story is now published as well. Journey as you read. Noah’s Ark The Event is about The Wobble and the aftermath upon the marble we call Earth. This book is sci-fi with a basis in reality. The events which have been occurring around us gave me a pause to consider the possibility of life on the planet after the predicted happened. It has long been stated in many civilizations and with scientific evidence that The Wobble is a real event. We are past due for it to occur. The book is a simple explanation of what might happen given the likelihood of history repeating itself. That repeat may have caused the extinction during the eons of the life cycle of the planet. Read with the open mind that should it occur we will either perish or survive based on our knowledge, skills, and abilities. To those who prepare tomorrow will again dawn. The author, Donald Dirnberger, lives now on the Grey Wolf Resort and Ranch near Victor, Colorado where he enjoys gardening, raising animals, along with writing. His works include volumes of poems and writings along with short stories. Volume of Poems is meant to engage the reader in reflective thought. A former Peace Corps Volunteer in the Eastern Caribbean, Antigua, West Indies and Honduras his life has taken him to many different places with more to be discovered. Author’s Special Note: My son, Nathan Rockwood - Dirnberger and partners have purchased the Grey Wolf Ranch in Victor, CO. It will be transformed into an organic certified Agri-tourism, health and wellness resort known as the Grey Wolf Resort. We need help transferring our current farm operation along with getting organic certification on the new land. Some new infrastructure is needed and will be built. Our philosophy of sustainable permaculture as a base combined with health, wellness and hospitality will create the Grey Wolf Resort. A donation will be made from each book sold. It is where I now live. Here I write and get my spirit renewed. The vistas are incredible an inspiration to any creative person or just a place to getaway and relax. Maybe I will see you here and we can discuss books, nature, souls and life. Updated note February 2020: The Grey Wolf Resort and Ranch is moving ahead in several areas. Yurts for air bnb guests. Geo Dome for green house. Garden beds for growing our own fruits and vegetables. Solar Green House for year round growing season. Goat barn for milking. Compost piles. Goose eggs. We are a working ranch as well as a resort. Families enjoy being able to help with the chores which are necessary to keep the ranch running smoothly. Feeding and watering the birds and animals, gathering eggs, herding livestock to enclosures, trying to find where Dr. Pepper (the alpaca) currently is on the Ranch, guessing if Mr. Bourbon will be our meal next Thanksgiving dinner. Come and take part. Updated note March 20,2020: With the C virus now spreading across the earth The Grey Wolf Resort and Ranch has gone on self isolation. I continue to write and post my books as paperbacks, ekindles and audio. May you enjoy them for they are meant to be read and shared. When the GWRR reopens there will be postings on the web page. https://greywolfresort.com Check it often. Also check here as I will post updates. Be safe. Stay safe. Dirnberger is one of the few who has been in each of the government service agencies of the United States of America. Don began his first service with the Peace Corps as a volunteer, Easter Caribbean (EC 22, 77-79) Antigua and Barbuda, West Indies, Curriculum Development Specialist. He wrote social sciences resource guides for primary and secondary teachers which were taught in seminars at the island college. In addition, he established library resource centers (LRC) in several of the schools on the islands. To equip the LRCs he sought funding, books, materials, media from a variety of sources including Jefferson County Public Schools, Arvada Kiwanis, USAID, USN, public and private companies. When Hurricane Mitch devastated Central America in 1998, he felt the urge to return to service by helping in the homeland country of his mother. Halsey (Halcyon) Dirnberger was born on the island of Utila, Bay Islands, Honduras, Central America. With the Crisis Corps (Response) Don served as a Disaster Relief Volunteer (1999). Among his tasks were quartermaster, paymaster, construction of simple housing, water and sewer lines, roads, and food distribution. Leaving retirement Don again sought to serve by joining AmeriCorps (AC) and was assigned to Habitat for Humanity - Metro Denver (HFH - MD) as a New Construction Project Leader, 2021 -2022. His knowledge, skills, and talents have been used to build sustainable, affordable housing across the metro area. Don will be returning to AC and HFH - MD for a second year as a Construction Leader - Warehouse, 2022-2023. He was able to honor his father, Leo Dirnberger, by doing a week of building with the Redwood River HFH affiliate of Marshall, MN, July 2022. His father was a part of HFH when they came to Colorado and had grown up near Marshall. In addition, he was part of an AC Team Blitz Building with the Greeley, Colorado HFH, June 2022. Several AC Teams from across Colorado came together to build in a week a duplex unit under the supervision of HFH construction supervisors, volunteers from Weld County, Greeley, and future homeowners. His lifelong dedication to service for his community, his country, his fellow members of society, has led him to be one of the few to serve in all three service agencies, thus the triple crown.
