Vance Penn lives a life that has to be lived to be believed, even Forrest Gump would be jealous. His formative years were spent in the small Northwest Kansas community of Sharon Springs until his family relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska during high school. After attending the University of Nebraska he worked in ballroom dance until a motorcycle accident cut short his career. Returning to school at Livingston University, now the University of West Alabama, Vance focused on sports medicine and particularly rodeo sports medicine. Graduate school took him to Wichita State University where he pursued a masters degree while establishing a rodeo sports medicine team covering high school, college, and professional rodeo. After a foray in college and professional sports, Vance went to work for the US Military aboard Navy warships based in Japan and on Army posts in Germany, Washington, DC, and San Antonio, TX. While working with the world's best military, Presidents, Kings, or any of his many adventures around the globe may have helped shape his views, they haven't changed his mind. Vance remains an independently minded American who values freedom, opportunity, competition, and the right to pursue the American Dream for his family and himself. Vance fulfilled a lifelong goal by completing his PhD at Thomas Paine College where his dissertation focused on the impact of the Freemasons on America. As longtime Freemason himself, the Masonic Family is an important family tradition. His wife, Renee, daughter, Drew, and son, Valen, are also members of the Masonic Family as members of the Order of the Eastern Star, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and DeMolay International respectively. Dr. Penn also serves as an officer in the Texas State Guard completing deployments across the state, helping “Texans Serve Texas.” The Penn's and their American Eskimo, Tex, reside in San Antonio, Texas...until Uncle Sam decides he needs them elsewhere.
