Dyane Harwood graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a degree in English and American Literature. In 2007, Dyane was diagnosed with postpartum bipolar disorder (also known as bipolar, peripartum onset). Dyane has been a freelance writer for twenty years and has interviewed luminaries including Anthony Bourdain, Dr. Kay Redfield Jamison, and SARK. She has written for the Huffington Post, SELF Magazine, the International Bipolar Foundation, and Postpartum Support International. She founded a chapter of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) and facilitated free support groups for moms with mood disorders for nine years. Dyane lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California with her husband Craig, their daughters Avonlea and Marilla, and their Scotch collie Lucy.
