Elaine Springer-Daniels is a humanistic integrative counselor and psychotherapist and the author of Understanding Black Trauma. Her work as a counselor is influenced by a range of therapy approaches which she weaves together to support her clients and help them take control of their emotional wellbeing. This philosophy fuels her writing, which she hopes will help both those who have firsthand experience of racial trauma, and those seeking to support others. Elaine has accreditations from the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy in trauma-focused therapy, CBT, and humanistic integrative counseling, amongst other qualifications. As a practicing therapist, she is passionate about supporting clients through trauma and nurturing them on a path towards greater wellbeing. She is particularly interested in black trauma and the impact it has on the lives of those who live with it. In the wake of George Floyd’s murder, she has worked with many clients who were deeply impacted by the event, and she is passionate about supporting those affected. Elaine is married with three children and now runs her own counseling practice.
