Elliott Light, grew up in McLean, Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C., before the capital's outskirts transformed from farmland and open fields into sprawling housing developments and mega-malls. With a mind as curious as his storytelling, he pursued both engineering and law, ultimately spending three decades practicing environmental, energy, contract, telecommunications, and patent law. But storytelling always called to him. In 2002, he published his first novel, Lonesome Song, embarking on a journey that merges entertainment with sharp social commentary. His subsequent works, including Chain Thinking (2003), The Gene Police (2018), and Throwaways (2020), tackle controversial and hard-hitting topics that often coincide with today’s headlines. His latest novel, The Jackson River Bridge (2023), is his first release through Imzadi Publishing and continues his tradition of weaving compelling narratives that shine a light on complex, sometimes uncomfortable truths, such as sex trafficking and societal injustices. Elliott’s writing explores the human condition, peeling back the layers of controversial issues to reveal the frequently uncomfortable realities beneath. His stories challenge readers to confront the these troublesome topics while delivering gripping plots and unforgettable characters. When not writing, Elliott enjoys experimenting with Asian-inspired recipes, mastering his air fryer, and reading about emerging energy technologies like super-hot geothermal. He and his wife, Sonya, share a love of travel, and while at home, he happily serves their cat, Feste, with unwavering dedication.
